If you are going for the "track T" look, that's not it, however, if you like it run it! I like it, maybe shorten it up a bit?
cool look. i like the shape. as mentioned; remove the mesh and oliver plate. are you running a draw bar or 3pt hitch?
You asked for opinions...heres mine...I'm not feeling it. A 28-31 Model A or '32 shell would look better to me. However...it does look a lot better than most of the tractor grill shells on rods I've seen. Run it if you want, it's your car man!
I like it too. I'd have to fill the hole in the top and remove the nameplate and move it back a couple inches. I think a hood would look good too, the grille shell seems to match the curve of the cowl pretty well. If you were to sink the opening back in the shell and gl*** in some canted quad headlights it wouldn't be far off the 60's custom look either.
I like the look, had you dumped the logo and not said it was a tractor shell some guys would scratching their heads as to what it was. Carry on with YOUR build.
I was thinkin 60s show rod too, draw puller knobs inserts instead of the mesh and canted quads...hmmmmmm.... of course it would need tons of mods, and it aint what you asked. I think if you post a picture of the whole car we can get a better feel of the overall effect. Tractor grilles can be kool. Unfortunateley they have been overused by people w/ poor skills and even lesser fantasy, just like flat black, and now have a bad rep.
what car my eyes keep looking to the left . Its your car do it . Oliver grills are stylish . I was thinking about using a Moline grill on my 29 Chevy till i found a 29 Chevy grill.
I dont like tractor grilles on hot rods, but i got to admit your dont look bad. Kind of a track nose look. Keep it.
people are sheep...if it was what Henry equipped, you'd be hearing "right on man" (goes with groovy). Just look at the shape of the car with that grill and decide if it looks good to you. personally, i don't think it flows or goes. No matter how nice you make it with that grill all your gonna hear is "nice rat rod" just another $.02 for ya.
I know this is kind of picking nits, but there are some design elements that seem to work and others that don't. However, I think you can make this work with some adjustment. It's just too prominent on the front of a small roadster and needs to be moved so that it bcomes part of the overall design and not just something stuck on the front. The shell needs to move back, I think, so that it doesn't stick so far forward of the wheels. Look at it from the side and see if you can get the forward edge of the shell behind the tire. Then move the headlights forward a bit to line up with the shell. You might even chop it a bit to make it shorter to match the upper line of the cowl. If you post a side view and a direct front shot maybe one of our expert photoshoppers can do something to adjust it.
