What does "in beta" mean?

    Again, I'm an old fart, out of the loop. It's probably going to be very obvious & I'll make an *** out of myself once again. I'm ***uming it's not in reference to the Betamax/VHS wars of the 70's. I did fish around for an explanation, but couldn't come up with one. Thanks.

    Beta usually is a test version of a new product (software or program) to work out all the bugs and make changes before it hits the market or goes full time...basically if it doesn't work they reserve the right to change what ever they want when ever they want!
