Can I paint a ring with a hammer and wrench in the middle and a name on the ring? I was thinking Lion Steel Shop..? Maybe an STP and Texaco sticker on the fender, or do I need to build a wrecker boom in the back?

PBR empties in the bed. Driver's side of the seat broken down and greasy, passenger side covered in plastic. Mismatched tires and maybe wheels. But the wheels gotta be Red.

Okay, it depends on what you mean by shop truck.

A shop with a need for a truck? That would probably be a shop truck. Get the connection?

How 'Bout Just a CLEAN Old truck ?

Not a Super Restored thing, Just a Nice Old Truck that is in Good condition but not so Good your afraid to put Parts in the back for Delvery or the Score you ran accross on your way home from the Burger Hut Last night.

Why do People think they need to Fag Up there truck with a bunch of Lame Non-Existant Logo's ?

I have no Shop, But for Years I did swap meets in my Chopped '55 F-100 with no Logo's.

I still do the same thing only now i have a '55 Ford F-350 Flatbed Dually for the Big & Heavy Hauls ... Again NO LAME LOGO"S !!

For the lighter Hauls, A '65 Chevy Long Bed 2 owners before me Local truck, Lowered with 15x8.5 ET Slot Mags All around With Air Helpers for the weight.. Again NO LOGO"S.

Unless you HAVE a shop or Company i see no reason for Fake Logos on anything.

I dunno, but you can fit 1/2 a ton of car parts in an el camino before it hits bump stops

I've never seen the point in a full size truck

With me growin' up around drag racing I like 50's,60's trucks with some sort of plank or push bumper on the front. Not the big tow truck bumpers just Something about 6" high and acouple feet wide.
I'm not into the name on the door stuff.

  11. Ya if you even asking this question....might already be heading down the wrong path. If you do do it make it something legit, like the name of an old service station from the area not some chessy lame ass name that it too catchy to be real.

If you own a shop, put your name and whatnot on the door, have a good push bumper, gas cans, oil, chains, tools, etc... in the back, and lots of grease on the seat and steering wheel. Maybe even a pair of safety glasses on the dash, lol. Just keep it real. [IMG]

My shop truck is, as other have said, just a truck -'67 F-100, 390 and original with patina and stock hub caps. Hauls old cars stuff one day and maybe 20 bales of hay the next. NO logos - ever - on mine, and I have a real shop.

This one is not a shop truck.
It is just a beat up old truck that has been driven every day for the last 16 years pulling a trailer thru 4 states

  19. An actual shop where you do work, helps.

A running old truck that you do work related to your shop is a big plus, as well.

It's your truck, do what you will with it. If you don't have a shop, and you paint up a "shop truck" just to attempt some sort of trendiness, don't be surprised if someone calls you on your creation.

There's enough BS going on, anymore, anyway.

  20. I think he should paint "Shop Truck" on the side
kind of like the old fad where you could buy "BEER" and it was a white can with blue lettering

Well, from my experience a real shop truck randomly doesn't have oil pressure, has 1/3 turn of play in the steering, and is downright frightening at highway speed. Why all these guys paint those logos is beyond me. All I see is flaunting a complete & total lack of maintenance :) That's a real shop truck.

Well I have a shop and a truck that I do put alot of motors, trannys, garbage and feed in but I couldn't see myself sitting in a park watching people walk by it, so I guess I'll leave it the way it is untill one of the cool kids wants to wash it and pay for it to be seen.
    Thanks for the input.

I thought a shop truck might just be a truck project sitting in the back of youre garage for a few years. At least thats what my shop truck was.
