Dont make your shop truck a "shop truck" because you think its the new johnra. Do it because YOU want to do it. You can have a logo on it, or no logo. I dont think it is really science...Not trying to be a dick, just do what you want man...Ask for some examples/pictures to get ideas, and go from there...

Whats it take to be the shop truck...cheap, thats what it takes. An all but freebie truck that somebody owes you money for work etcetc but it isn't one that you lay out cash for, like this ford.

  4. This is my current shop truck,, it gets used and abused everyday, very little maintence, last week the master cylinder was finally changed, it had been going all summer with only front brakes, the tires are all mismatched on it but they all hold air and have decent tread on them, the seat is covered with grease and grime, and it now has a blanket on it after my girlfriend got grease all of over pants. If I wash my hands and drive it home, I have to wash my hands again when I get home. The windsheild is cracked, the stereo doesnt work anymore, the floor of the box is in bare steel from all the scratches, however it never rusts, it is polished from all the stuff riding around back there. As of right now, it has a complete 40 ford rear end in the box, a set of wheel wells from another project, a crate full of straps, a jug of water, an empty jug of oil and a jack. Inside the cab is a box of busniess cards, a spare light for the trailer, and some tools. This is the real deal shop truck, used for a real shop.

I've run a shop for over 30 years. Used to have a magnetic sign I put on my truck, but now I'm as incognito as I can get. Got tired of "My car won't run, what's wrong with it?" EVERY time I stopped and opened the door. (G) Tinted windows might be next.

my shop is not a restoration or vehicle mechanic shop, it is trailer service and repair, parts for trailers, truck accessories, sales and service. Very blue collar. I or my one employee would be the only ones driving it, I don't drink or visit the other kind of bars that serve up more than drinks. I have a shop on the main street in the town we live in and most people know my shop for having the hot rods around it anyways. The shop is a 1954 steel building that was a gas station, has two bays and a small office, has the overhang canopy overhead of where the pumps were. I think it just fits for what we do, where we do it at, and what I am into. When it gets done I will post some pics
