I know its a 34 3 window but what do you think has been done to it or is on it? Also, what kind of hemi is this? http://images.craigslist.org/5I35Ld5Kf3Eb3F73Mfc6b857fb5d7eb0f16cd.jpg http://images.craigslist.org/5L55E65M43Ff3mf3Hac6b11c6ec5343631e75.jpg
Looks like a chrysler powered '34 that was built in the fifties/early sixties to me. A pic that actually shows the CAR rather than one showing only a deuce grill shell, an early hemi and 6" of cowl would be helpful, but that is my best guess based on the photo posted. Edit: ah another photo. Yes, that looks like thats what it is. I think if I were anywhere near that car, I would probably go take a look at it.
Guy says it was his dads car, Stock 34 with a 426. He wants $25,000 but will take less because he's broke
I like it just fine.. no, I love it Old build in the old ways. I hope the new owner can leave most of it as built. That is a badass hot rod.
If you guys are really wantin' a '34 Ford that car looks like a '33. There are slight differences. The decklids, doors and hoods can be mixed between '33 and '34s. The grille and hoods have to stay '33 with'33 and '34 with'34. Also that thing is no were near stock... Smokey
My guess is the seller was meaning stock roof, no chop, or meaning genuine Ford body shell. He probably heard his late Dad say something along those lines and tried to recall what Dad said.
I'm not a hemi afficianado by any means, but I'm pretty sure that's not a 426. Looks more like a 392. If I had 25 large laying around, I'd be sniffing at that things tail feathers.
Haha, thanks man. Yeah, that's mine. Not a running engine, that was just a mock up for the picture before those parts went back on the shelf for in anticipation of future use.
It's definitely not a 426. It's a Chrysler so it's either a 331, 354 or 392. Intake and carbs are badass, as is the rest of the car. I'd buy it in a skinny minute.
What they said. Price seems within reason. Used to be common to put 32 grilles on 33-34s. Done, it will certainly go fast enough to make your shorts match the body color.
That seems like a reasonable starting point, and the guy sounds very negotiable. It is so choice. If you have the means, I do suggest picking it up.
