Mine smells like smoke/fire from setting the firewall insulation on fire while I was welding up some holes. Just a tip for the uninitiated: that old horse hair stuff smolders rather than flames. So check well, check often! lol

 

My Poncho smelled terrible the day I got it..Now I´ve changed the steering wheel to a three Spoke Metalflake one...the smell is gone...maybe the pre-owner had a little "wet smelling Hands"?
