i'm pretty sure they do right in front of the front spring hanger, just under the back of the cab. its in a straight section so it shouldn't be to hard to shorten/stretch.

not to hi-jack the thread, but while we are on the subject, what fits nice under a 41 chev coupe? did i hear (read) TOYOTA?

  2. I put a short bed 50 chevy truck on a standard cab long bed S10. fits better than it should be allowed.

The seam is closer to the front, about a foot behind the front body mount. If you can find a 2wd blazer it may be closer to 102-102 inches, the swb pickup is 108.

Do a search for a post by Rocky about putting an S10 ch***is under a 40 chevy. Someone there responded that the Toyota pickup ch***is works better for that swap due to the frame not being a straight ladder frame.

A friend of mine put one under a '48 GMC suburban and the wheelbase was right on. He cut the floor out and made body mounts/crossmembers out of sq. tubing and had it sitting loooow without touching the suspension at all and had plenty of tire clearance.

  6. I'm the one with the 59 Vette on a STANDARD S10 frame[Porkn******s] old ch***is....
It is set up with a 4 link and 9' Ford rear/dropped spindles etc -=a great ch***is, I ended up getting in a three way trade:DMenage-AW-TRADE?
    I SHORTENED IT TO 103"
My "vette":) is a race car-SHELL body with no floor or inner structure.....
If it were a real Vette.......
I would IMMEDIATELY cut it and do the VERY same thing.
They were a peice of **** car and if you ever drove a stocker you know why...
I am not usually in favor of an S10 swap as they are almost always too narrow in reality.
They do drive nice and parts are easy and cheap,however- so wheel width/offset is a small trade-off......
I would be interested in learning about the fit of one under a 59 Rambler American though as I have a 2 dr wagon I got here in a Hamb auction
