Pontac, ...err, BITCH! My ride was born with a 389, but I still had to step her up to a modified GTO plant , requiring welding up my own motor and trans mounts -and that still ain't enough. Mickey Thompson knew how to go faster than anyone else. What's your problem? BITCH! FWIW, I'm Rick james...

I'd have to agree on the flathead! Especially if it's dressed & includes a blower. Best engine award last year out of 3334 cars/trucks at the Pumpkin Run.

I've got a '56 337 Desoto Hemi in a... Desoto!! And Your not gonna believe this but I'm running a Buick Straight 8 in a '50 Buick!!!
I am running a 1967 Pontiac 230ci inline six in my 53 Pontiac, but not an ordinary inline as mine is one of the Overhead Cam units from in a Firebird. My hotrod (28 A sedan) I am building now, to be different, will also run one of these motors tho it will be a screamer when i am thru with it.
I'm rollin hard with a 1.3L gas monster AND a sewing machine motor in my PRIUS!http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/images/icons/icon10.gif No seriously, I have a 59ab flattie waiting to be rebuilt for my T.
Well, I'm still running the "original" caddy 390. in the 60 cad. Original is in quotes for a good reason. It's been bored to a 405. Have a mild cam, re-jetted carter(edelbrock) carb, and it's pushin 400hp and 500ft lbs at the crank. I just replaced the original mechanical fuel pump with a high flow mechanical fuel pump. The original glass bulb filter has no more filter, but I've got an inline at the tank. With the new high flow pump, I don't have any issues running much higher rpm's, which is also possible via Ignitor ignition and bigger spark plug gaps. Thing runs like a TOP. I'm very soon gonna be towing a 30 foot camper from Cary Illinois to Wilmington, NC, and I've got no worries with the engine.
Mine, a 230 flathead six in my '50 Plymouth. Just got the exhaust on yesterday, and still grinning ear to ear... Pete
I run original 4 in my '29 Tudor. I's .030" over, modern internals in distributor, leakless pump and I just bolted on a new Brumfield hi-comp head. It may get also an intake and header changes...
