Do i keep the 235 in my truck or go with something a little more part/power friendly? I have a 62 c10 short/fleet side that i am torn on which way to go. The engine runs okay the way it sits. i think the timing is off along with a 45+ year old radiator creating a little overheating. The valve assy seems to not be getting oil.(only coming out of one of the rockers little juicer) Im fairly sure that these are easy fixes, but it is only a matter of time before i go rebuilding the engine. I have to do a RAD regardless of which direction i go. I love the look of the inlines. **The TWIST****I have a 440/Auto tranny sitting on wood blocks in the shop that was built about 5 years ago.0 miles(previous project that was aborted because we sold the car) I LOVE the power of a mopar BB. I have NO intention on leaving the truck original. I want to drop it/chop it/make it a little driver friendly(my wifes power steering pumps get tired after a loop or two in town) and original is just not my thing. (hence why im here) The way i figure it...the cost is gonna be about the same for me to rebuild the inline or go for a mopar power house. **anyone that may have done this or similar please throw in your opinion so i kinda have an idea of what im getting into if i do the mopar**
Im a huge I6 fan, but if I had a 440 sittin on wood blocks, I would use that. Its just begging for it. Please dont chop it, those trucks look like shit chopped. my .02
