History What ever happened to that red 32 Coupe with the chrome grill shell?

I remember going to the LA Roadster Show with my buddy,years ago and one of his favorite cars was this red 32 Coupe with fenders,Merc hubcaps,and a chrome grill shell. He wanted to trade his beautiful 48 Woody for it! I remember it was on the cover of,Rod and Custom,I think,coming around a corner in the mountains.
Anybody else remember this car,or what happened to it?

 

I assume the reason nobody can find it is because somebody painted over the chrome-thank God.

 

It was built many years ago and that was the most distinguishing feature. I remember seeing it on more than one cover,so it must have been a popular car. I never really cared for the chrome grill but it sure was a stand out car.

 

is it the one on the first page here? there are only black and white pics with the chrome shell...
