What exactly is a P/U?

    I think mines a P/U, although it's only hauling it's gas tank.

  2. I think that if it has an open cargo area seperate from the seating area it could be cl***ed a pickup. Weather it ever hauls or is capable of hauling is a different story.
    Now lets take it a bit farther, an SUV with the top removed would not be cl***ed a pickup. Nor would a wagon with the roof cut off. Unless there is something (ie bady part) that seperates the seating area from the cargo area.
    I think originally the El Camino or Ranchero was considered a utility vehicle not unlike say a '55 business coupe. Other than the fact that your stuff got wet if it rained. Later people started calling them a pickup.
    Of course I could be totaly wrong about the ranchero/el camino thing. [​IMG]
