What exactly is this?

    I’ve done a little research and from what I’ve gathered I think it’s a VW type 1 engine from 1960. But I’m also new to cars so I want to make sure before I try to sell it. Also if this isn’t the place for this kind of engine or manufacturer etc please let me know. If you’ve got any input thanks in advance.

    ACVW Type1, guessing it's a '61 40hp singleport, probably bug.
    Samba.com is the place to go for info on these. These guys will know.
    May have some value to someone who's restoring a '61, or some specific parts may have value. But as usual, condition is everything, esp as a "potential" core. Don't over expect on value... Good luck.
