My Dad's new 64 Impala SS with a 327 and 4 speed started the ball rolling. Then it was on to all the funny cars racing at Irwindale dragstrip all thru the late 60's to early 70's. Then Falfa's 55 and onto two lane blacktop. The Bullit Mustang is even in there close to the top. From then on my life has revolved around hot rods (ok, mostly muscle cars) and girls, in that order.

  7. It's Scott Sullivan's, an it definitely influenced my build. I think he sold it though. I seen the car in person when I was still driving my 57 Sedan Delivery. He drove by giving me thumbs up at the Pomona Swap Meet, in the mid 90's. Something I won't forget

  9. Adelaide international Raceway opened in about 1972, and American funny car "Trojan Horse" was booked. I had never seen or heard a nitro car before and this, to me was the greatest thing I have ever experienced. I knew I had to have a hemi someday after seeing this.

  14. For me it would have to be the '58 Chevy and chooped Merc in American graffiti, the Hirohata Merc, and the Barris Merc. I love hot rods, but customs have always been "it" for me.
Oh, and the most influential was a my Uncle Bud's 1970 Hemi 'Cuda. What a beast!

  15. Dad's '56 and a few others. Steve Korneys Goldfinger Anglia definetly slayed me. The big hand used to flash on and off (it was plexiglass and had light behind it. It also had speakers mounted outside one one cowl by the front fender and one behind the door and he would play 60's rock music out of them. That car was a sycodelic mind blowing, drag machine for a young kid to behold.

  17. Memorable first impression has to be Jack Ditmars "Lil Screamer" B/A, pulling the front wheels on every shift, beautiful car

  18. My father's 1941 Chevy Coupe was the first car that I ever turned wrenches on....I was only five years old then and he put me up on the fender with a few tools and told me to take it apart !!...A half hour later I had the rocker cover off and several other pieces....I was covered head to toe with grease and dirt...Mom really freaked out when she saw me !!...I'll never forget that 1941 Chevy Coupe...To me, that's "THE MOST FAMOUS CAR IN THE WORLD " !!!..........HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, DAD !!....R.I.P.....I'll never forget you.
