What floor shift for a slant pan Hydra-Matic?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by onetalltexan, Jun 10, 2010.

  1. I have a chance at something that will definitely need a floor shift for an old Pontiac Hydra-Matic. I just can't find one of those old B&M set ups at all or that won't break the bank. Anybody got any suggestions? Changing the ****** out is not really an option for me right now.

OK, I'm game. Why do you feel you need a floor shift?

  4. I wouldn't drop one in the '55 Starchief, the '55 Chieftan...maybe, I got my eyes on an old coupe and it will need one! I don't want a manual bolted in this either, I am 6'7" tall and that would wear my *** out.
I always wanted to knock through the bands on the floor anyways!

Well, you could always use that cheap, Mr. Gasket, universal transamatic automission shifter. Even J.C. Whitney still sells them, and they are advertised to fit just about anything. Butch/56sedandelivery.
