What frame mods do I have to make to install a t5 into my '37 Ford 85hp flathead ?
I'm in the process of installing an open end drive shaft conversion from Hot Rod works.
Next on the work order is to install the t5 on to a bell housing adapter from Cornhusker.
I think I saw an older posting that one of the members submitted showing that he modified the X frame and made a plate in order to attach a trans mount to. Does anyone remember this article ?

I installed a '50 Merc open drive ****** in my '47 Ford, which insofar as the clearances and mounts are concerned, is a similar install. I recall drilling out the rivets on the lower X member gusset and the rivets in the sides to remove the stock Ford trans mount bracket. I installed the ****** and fabricated a new mount bracket as needed and re-installed the lower plate with grade 8 bolts. Of course new driveshaft, brake lines, etc. as required.
There should be adequate room in the X member to fit the T-5 without X member mods beyond thiose described above.

Hnstray, After viewing the X member today - your suggestion fits my needs. On your fabricated mount did you use a rubber cushion ? If so , do you recall what car and or model it was used on ?

    Thanks Rayzor

My Dad did this on a 40 Ford (same frame) while the car was together with a flathead & T5. Remove the rivets on the center of the x-member and remove the center. He used the trans mounting center plates from Ch***is Engineering for putting a turbo 350 with a small block. He made a spacer plate up and remounted the stock wishbone to the bottom of the bottom plate.
