Dude, go with www.newvintageusa.com the Woodward Series. Made in good ole USA, and some of the prettiest gauges I've ever seen. Omega, look cheap IMO, but then again they're not very expensive, and you get what you pay for..

Another thing NewVintageUsa.com are an Alliance vender.:D..

Sooooooo hard to buy american. I try too! Almost all aftermarket custom stuff (i.e. lake pipes, spots, hub caps, chrome bullets, etc.) are made in china. I hate bolting anything china made on my olds..... But sometimes there's not a choice.

  6. You mean U.S.A right. The reason I say that is that Mexico and Canada are also America as are the Central American and South American countries. Ok so much for today's geography lesson.

Stewart warner still has factories in the United States as well as Mexico. The U.S. made ones I think cost a little more but they can be bought.

I got mine from NAPA. You have to tell the NAPA guy that they still sell them as a rule. They are pricey, I got a little over 2 bills in mine [back in 2004] and I was getting a monster discount back then.

Actually I believe that New Vintage and Omega are partners or something....there's a link to the Omega site from New Vintage's site. Either way, both made in the U.S.A. though!!!

    From their site.

Omega Kustom is one of our Manufacturing partners and we felt that their product was a great match for our company to offer.

I bought New Vintage for my 39 Ford and was very pleased. To mount them in the stock holes in the dash , all I had to do was file a small notch to index them. Also the gauges are made at the Faria plant down the road from me in Uncasville ,CT.

  11. A little OT and politics as well as religion are not really considered fair game here.

The question remains who manufactures gauges in the United States

Are Cl***ics still made in the USA?

I just pulled one of my 56 Ford pickup gauges out to look and it was. 'Course these might be old enough to be called NOS, who knows?

Or maybe not, just noticed the USA was part of the address, not country of origin.

Westach still makes gauges here. Here's a picture of my N.O.S. speedo that I got on Epay for $25. For the life of me, I don't understand why I never hear of these gauges. Maybe I'm missing something, but they're priced reasonably & they have a slew of options, incl. 6 volt stuff. I temporarily installed the two cheapo Sunpro gauges, because they matched the look of the Westach. Check out their website, www.westach.com.

Thanks for the link. They seem to have good products. How reasonable are their prices I guess depends on how long one has been buying gauges.

I toured the plant, hell yes Auto Meter, while they may not make every single little component, they do make a lot, I would like to add that Sycamore Illinois is a great community that has not been devastated as badly as many in our nation, one of the reasons for that is Auto Meter. If any of you have taken the side roads on a cruise through some of the small rural towns lately you will see that these people need our help and support through jobs in manufacturing, there is no more patriotic thing that we can do as American citizens and consumers than to buy products made in small rural towns in our own great but struggling nation. I went through towns such as Cairo Illinois or Metropolis, or Chester, I had a tear in my eye, breaks my f'ing heart to see how we have let this happen to ourselves, our brothers and sisters stranded in these once vibrant cities and now left to tend the ruins. Why don't we come first? It scares me friends, the future scares the hell out of me.

  25. Does anyone make accurate copies of pre '64 aftermarket gauges? Something that would be "correct" on a period car?

Cl***sic Instruments are made in Michigan by American workers.
    They are also Aliance Vendors.
They are also used and installed by most of the top rod builders in America.
No, they are not cheap - BECAUSE they are the best, have a five year warranty, and still built by people who make an actual living in Michigan.

I am not affiliated with Cl***ic, just friends.
