Well Friday night we fixed the passenger door on the Tommi Gunn. It was constructed of a lot of pieces that we hacked out ot the section that was removed for shortening along with a brand new shiny piece for a lower skin.
Saturday I got up and went to an auction. A lot of shit was going cheap. A 51 Ford with a 350 Chevy and a 3 speed tranny and Hurst shifter went for 40 dollars. It was rough and smelled like cat piss. I almost bought a really nice 31 chevy ton truck. I bid it up to $1000 and bailed. 1050 bought it and the dude told me if I would have went to 1100 I would have had it. It was nice but I really didn't need it that bad. I got an aftermarket Mustang II front end with power rack for 20 bucks. No spindles though. Saturday night Matt went out on a date with a big boobed girl and Andrew (cptstickfgre) and a couple other buddies came over and we drank beer, watched metal mania, and worked on the Lunar Lander. Here are the new windshield posts we put on. Andrew got to witness first hand my crude but effective building techniques.
Sunday was kind of slow going. I piddled around until Matt got his ass out to my house. He didn't get out there until 2 or so so we didn't have much time to do anything. Apparently he had a rough night. We did get the Tommi Gunn cut and shortened though. It still need to get welded together. We'll do that through the week.
Beat me to it. I'm going through the weekend's photos. Nothing good, though. I underexposed the action shots like a punk. Crude or not, you've got two cars coming along faster than my one. You get that top chopped sunday?
In mid hack my buddy Russ showed up in his wicked 36 terraplane. It was out on its first run. We piddled around with his tranny linkage a bit to get it to shift right. That was pretty much all the excitement of my weekend.
I'm loving the way the Lunar Lander is coming out. I still can't get over this previous pic you took.
i got one of those 54 olds guage bezels to use in my A project down the road. But i sure as hell like your whole dash set up. That cars going to be bad ass! i cant wait to see it done. Bryan
Well Dirty2 got one of them New Miller 175 Welders and needed some power ran so I went over there Saturday and ran some conduit and got him fired up. Was gonna hole saw my dash to put my Speedo in but ran out of time. I hate the sun going down so early. Feels like the days are so short.
No, No pics of the big boobed girl. Hopefully I can get some pics of it all welded up tonight though.
Cool project,, is it another truck? For me I got little done car related (did Xmas stuff), got rear floor trimmed and the body mounted on the frame plus the fenders and running boards mocked up.. Almost ready to blow it apart and paint the frame.. just need to determine how to run exhaust and gas tank..
