what HAMBERS are gping to the Airport Show/Fitchburg April 23? (Massachusetts)

Anyone going? Lots of selling going on and the car show isnt bad either.

Maybe us HAMBERS can meet with our coffee in the morning. I may go if it isnt too cold and dreary- last year was sunny & warm.

Probably take the car - need to drive the piss out of it this year. Show car thing is the past.

This is a great swap meet/show. Usually some decent stuff for sale, reasonably priced. I met up with a few Hamber's last year.

Plus it's around the corner from my house! If anyone needs directions feel free to PM me.

I'm gonna be stuck workin' that weekend again. Dad and his buddies the Cody boys usually go though. He got his 32 roadster out of winter storage over the weekend but she won't be ready for any road trips soon. When do the Amherst swaps start?

 

I heard a rumor that the land got sold and they weren't doing the swap meet anymore. Of course this is just a rumor, so don't put too much stock in it.

As for the Fitchburg swap meet/show. I Think CHOPSHOP (hubby) is still going with his rod pals to meet up with others to chat and hang out. Not sure if the Chevy is going- havent asked it yet.

Thats the best part of the swap meets anyway-unless you can find a part you REALLY need - which doesnt happen very often anymore.They are starting to be more flea market than swap meet.

i'll be heading to fitchburg...kinda the semi-official unveiling of my '50 crestliner. bringing along a friend who just lost his '67 caprice to a 19 year old reckless driver...he's got the insurance check so he could be looking for a new toy...
and if amherst is done it is indeed a very sad day...like they really need to build more condos on that street...

Amherst has gone downhill in the last 5 years, but it is still on. Last sunday of the month...starting this month (April 30th)

Never been there but I'm planing on attending this year and hoping to drag the missus with me.Amherst is in the plans also.I have restricted walking just how big are they ?I have handicap permit for life and can use a scooter if needed but walking is not out of the question.

 

Bring the scooter Leon- its the field part of the airport- just enough to make anyone tired if they walk- then if you find something good- you have something to carry it on!

The Fitchburg Swap is one of my favorites.
I'll be getting back from Carlisle late Saturday night, so I'll have to drag my shabby ass out of bed to make it...better yet, stay up all night.
Now that that's settled, I'll see you all there!

 

is it worth the ride from long island

 

It's the best swap meet in New England for actually finding old Ford sheetmetal and parts. More there than Bristol and Stafford put together. Must have something to do with being run by Early Ford V-8ers. Not as good as last weekend if you're looking for Taiwan tools, snow blowers and old tires So I guess it depends on what you're after Vic.

I will be going up. this is a great swap meet. Are we getting together for a HAMB pic. ? If so where and when? Not sure what car I will be going in. If it's cool the roadster will not be going. The buick has a nice heater in it. See you guys there.

Still not sure if the Chevy is coming- been doing a VEEERY strange gunshot backfire when it parks- scared the hell out of the neighbors last night- they thought someone got shot!

OK- 11:30 (compromise - right in the middle) we can all meet by the end of the car show field- sorta where the cars dive in right before they park? Ill be wearing something with a Right Coast logo on it- and being a girl- (and dragging the little HAMBER along...) Im probably not too hard to find...
