Well a few years ago I had a chance to get the truck that my father brother and I built back in the late 80's early 90's. The only condition was that I had to sell my absolute dream car to get it . so My 1949 Lincoln 9EL 4 door went up for sale and within days Tommi from here on the HAMB bought it and it began its journey to Finland. I have regretted getting rid of that car since the day I dropped it off at the shippers. well a few days ago Tommi sent me a PM asking me for my email so he could send some pics since he was challenged to post them on the HAMB. Below you will see the car 1st as I had it and then as it is now in Finland. Thanks for the pics Tommi, and if anyone has a really nice 49 or 50 Baby lincoln I just might be interested in a trade for the Rum Runner (see my avatar).

Here is the car in its current state. Chopped shaved, flamed.

Man, the car looks good both ways, but to me I kind of like it better before. It was cl***y.

Suede black and flames is a bit over-done. I take it he's not done yet though? Maybe adding skirts in the back?

And then there's the whole chopped 4-door thing. I don't know. I just thought it was more unique in its original form.

No offense to the new owner, just a different taste.

    What happened to your Lincoln?

Hot Rodding is always a matter of personal taste. I like the "before" version, but can appreciate where the new owner is headed.

    Thanks for sharing.

Bad Bob must be flattered. The after pics look a lot like the diecast of Bob's car.

This time I have to agree with those who say it looked better stone stock. And I am Mr let's chop and section it. At the least it needs single color very shiny paint instead of the "I wanna be one of the cool guys" flat black and flames.

Only thing worse than selling your Lincoln for that common truck was that beautiful car getting butchered. Dont look back.

A maltese cross on the trunk and some spiderwebs on the roof and that car should be ready to ship back to Florida. WOW

Tommi's photos don't do justice. The car looks way better in real. It just got some ink in our national mag.

The pictures in the mag look better, but a Lincoln needs shiny paint and chrome.

This reminds me of my own situation. I had to sell my nice '50 Ford convertible a couple of years back. (Needed refreshing, but a nice running/driving stocker) The new owner has called me on a couple of occations to see the "improvements"..... an early '90s Lexus V8, camaro clip, interior out an '80s Buick regal, including the steering column and '80s Cadillac tail lights with mag wheels. I don't have the heart to go and see what he's done to the old girl.

So, yes your Lincoln looked good before, but it could have been a lot worse...

How did the chrome get so dull?

  28. The first pictures are not doing the car justice . because the crhome were (and are still) poor , interior was total mess , and car had lots of hidden bondo and rust.

It looked ok from few feet away(stock) , but closer look tell all.

Tommi did very good job ,when he chopped that car , and it is now much cooler than before chopping , flames are last thing that he did , and that may change in the future , because these customs are never "ready".

Maybe the shine is still in progress.....

There is allways people that are keeping project cars forever and immidiatly when they have sold it , start regretting the deal.... The new owner has put more miles to that car now , than it´s been seeing in decades!

Actually , i have the 337 bigblockflathead from that car in my recent A-roadster project , so it will continue living in more spacious and open enviroment for a looong time :)

I like those cars in original shape allso , but as my opinion , this one´s got better like it is now.

  29. i think the chop looks great and shiny paint in its future would really make it stunning.
great to see it staying in the hamb family.
