Ya'll remember the group in California that would take over a paved, hill road early in the morning, and have their own illegal kart races without engines, just coasting? I think they might of had an accident resulting in a death. Are they still at it? Have't heard anything about it in quite a while, and the thread about adult pinewood derby cars made me think of them. Name's on the tip of my tongue; it was a full sentence long. I watched some of the You tube videos. It was insane how fast they were going. I ***ume it fizzled out.
Ther was a driver killed in a crash in 2008. Appears the group fizzled after that, but there are other groups still going in other states. I know of at least two, one in Nevada and one in M***achusets.
Like many things,,, great fun with a small group,,, then some Press,,, then more people,,, then lets see how over the top... Yes someone lost their life having fun and he died in the same way Earnhardt did, a sudden forward motion at low speed. That is why with Land Speed we all have to wear a Head Neck Restraint system.
