    They're all on FB.

Paul still posts/documents PF life daily on Facebook, that is, unless he won the lottery and is blowing his money in search of the world's best pie.

Bad Bob is still Bob. I'm glad to have found him on FB. He's still up to a life of cars.

HRLC, she's there too and posts up some of her excursions.

Look them up... if need be, PM me and I'll give you their names.

  3. I miss them all,but I am not interested in facebook,,,besides I don't have a cat! :D HRP

    What @-Brent- said... and-
Megan keeps very busy with her job and doesn't check in here too often. I keep in touch with her and we exchange an occasional text message. She does post some on Instagram.

It's our 'smart' phones. In the 'old' days we would be at a computer, never at work, to keep an eye on the HAMB.
But now that we carry our computers in our pocket, it is easy to hear the bong of a friends posts, pull out your phone and there it is, you can point and shoot photos, instead of downloading once you figure out how to size. Groups are a finger swipe away. Yea I get notifications on my phone about posts I am following, but then I have to go to at lease my pad to see what is going on because my phone is WAY too small of a screen. Some members I have talked too lost posting momentum with the site change, or their lives have changed, like many of us,, mctim, T Man, many are watching but their voices are silent. But sorry, I use Facebook to follow friends, family, racing clubs, my own pages.

I don't know if I am okay being proud, or should be embarrassed, to say I AM NOT a Face Book kinda guy. Most of my family and many of my friends are regulars on FB........but I have an inexplicable resistance to going there. I avidly email those same people, so it isn't about 'failure to communicate'.

I can't even claim it's entirely an 'age thing'.......although most, if not all, the older people I know
who 'do' FB are women.......you know the 'mother/grandmother/grandkids thing'. Oh, well.....I've
changed my mind before.......but it took awhile.

At least some of my friends didn't make the transition to the new HAMB format. Bit of a learning curve and some of us oldtimers greet new formats with a heavy sigh. I'm used to it now and even like the new HAMB. I'm on FB too but I resisted that for a long time.

  8. I am not a facebooker either. I am on there but seldom check in cause its boring. This site is my facebook. And I love the new format. Its easier to read, easier to post and easier to see photos. I don't even own a smart phone because sometimes you just don't want to be connected to everyone and see them post an entry every time they fart...

FB is great for keeping up with what my family and close friends are up to, and showing them what I'm up to. It ain't the HAMB, though.

Well, fellas, the OP asked what's up and that's what's up. I can't speak for Bob and Paul but I think part of what they shared here, that I enjoyed, was OT. That stuff they share elsewhere.

Yep, there are virtually no restrictions on FB as to OT and what's posted...I, too, have moved over to FB...and like Hnstray, I resisted for a long time...but since I've moved over there, I've been having a great time connecting and re-connecting with old friends, new friends and people all over the U.S. It's a larger audience and for what I do (write books, articles and feature articles for Rod Authority and Ol' Skool Rodz mag) all six of my books have been selling really well...not so here. I've noticed that most of the guys on here are low-buck and no one wants to 'read' a hand-held book anymore...and that's too bad, there's a wealth of information out there in book form.

Hello Roger! Didn't realize who you are from your HAMB name. I always enjoyed your
articles in .....dare I say it here....Goodguys Gazzette! I may not have made the transition
to FB, yet, but I have not given up on print media.....still enjoy that very much, just expanded
a bit to include the 'searchability' of the internet.

  13. Youse guys can do facebook for all the periphery if you like, but if your interest is in old hot rods then the Hamb is the only game in town.
Its pure without all the added ingredients that spoil the taste. Ryan and company sees to that.

No Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc., etc. for me. HAMB & Ford Barn are my two online "must do's". Other than them, I'm out in my shop working on projects.

And there's no good reason you should give up on "print"...it'll be a very long time before print ends.

Thanx for the compliments on GG's articles...I had a great time writing for them...FWIW, it was on the HAMB that I got my start with them...Editor Jim Aust saw some of my stories and asked if I'd write for them...my first "story" for them was in the May, 2004 issue...I enjoyed over ten years writing for them.

And Squirrel is correct...there's much more out there in the way of communication with like-minded (read that car guys) individuals...

  18. In Fact.....The HAMB is not what it was years ago.....not like a big family of old...No one introduces themselves anymore or even put their city of residence...or an avatar...too many OT cars and trucks too...an old International PU or Dodge PU is not very Traditional,,,I know coz I WAS THERE.

  21. Everyone is nice here... at least the 6 of you that aren't on my ignore list.
I don't do FB although I have an account, haven't looked at it in 6 months. Most of my family was on "do not follow" anyway. 99.99% of what they post is "likes" and lesser drivel.

  22. Well none of them said good bye. So I am assuming that they never really left. I mean anyone with good manners would have said good bye or kiss my ass or something.

Over 70 years old now and don't care for any of the electronic devices. I'm not criticizing all of you that have them, but I miss the days when we use to sit across the table and have meaningful conversations or talk on the phone. It saddens me to see all of us slipping away from talking to one another and be able to read the sincerity

  25. Fb has got some weird things going on. Devoloping artificial intelligence and who knows what.
I just want to hang with car guy stuff, without the rest of the world who arnt car people.
Some things should be private, and I find fb to intrusive.

I hope I'm not offending any one, but I miss the days when all us old timers use to sit across the table from one another and have( meaningful conversations) usually about our old hot rods or talk on the telephone together. I still believe by actually taking to someone that you can read their sincerity or lack of.It saddens me to see people drifting away from this with all the new electronics devices

Gene in Farmington, Mn 0ver 70 and miss the good old days

Roger I miss your GG stories. Also some of the others. I'm not much of a Facebook guy though. It seems to amaze me how everyone has become Quick Draw McGraw with their cell phones. Should have a contest who is the fastest draw!

Thanx Piker, appreciate it...you can now find me writing a column in "Ol Skool Rodz" mag in case you missed the first few years of GG's columns...

  30. I'm only around 60 and yes I miss eating and talking with friends, most of them are not using electronic devices I am afraid, not many being used in the afterlife.

That said my only contact with the few that I have still among us would not happen at all if not for the computer, or the telephone, I don't make it home very often. I do sometimes chat with people I will likely never meet on line and while it is not the same as in person they are people I would never have known at all without an electronic device.
