I believe the center bar is an aftermarket part for '51's. The top arc is likely from a '51.

Thanks [emoji6] yes i try to do my best, fun to have the car driveable as fast as possible now when its summer! But i have a brake problem too the booster are leaking vaccum car was so low before so the booster have had ground contact sometime so i dont have brake boost so brakes are terrible [emoji16] going to take the booster apart when painting is done if its not repairable then i buy a new. I have looked at those cal customs grilles to and they are very alike but i belive all cal custom grills are pices that you bolt on to your existing grill? This one is solid and dont have no weldings inside maybe hand built and chromed with cal custom as role model? [emoji6] im not a big fan of custom grills on shoeboxes but this one i actually like so not going to change it.

Hey, wait a minute. This thread is about what happens IN your garage, not out in the driveway! And we want to know what color you're going to paint the car. Inga hemligheter !

Roof is painted today! Dark brown metalflake did turn out great going to continue with the rest of the body color then go back and wet sand the roof and put more clear coat on it. Rest of the body will be a solid color.

I'm happy to see you spraying paint in the driveway. We don't all need to work in professional paint booths.

I once wrote an article for a car club magazine encouraging people to get a stalled project moving again by starting their paintjob as motivation. Even if they only paint a panel at a time, seeing some part of the car looking right gets people motivated to make progress.

    Your roof looks great!

Thank you glad you like it! I actually think its better to paint a car outside insted of an usuall garage or shop the paint dust lifts good and you dont have to clean everything after [emoji6] I have painted so many cars outside and many has turned out really great only a fly or to in the paintjob just wetsand and polish after [emoji12] Like you said paint is a big thing in a project and i think its more fun to do everything by my self i have the big furtune to get paint and clear real chep from work so it dont cost so big money!

Thank you guys you are all to kind! Now the shoebox is finished with the outside paint its ice white rest of the body goes along great with the Brown flake roof i think! Im happy with how it turned out next will be to drive it around a little and work out some minor driving problems brakes, wheel alignment and see if engine and trans runs good and strong! Here are some pictures the roof is still dirty by dust so its not reflecting so good but you get the picture [emoji6]

    That looks Fantastiskt!

Now I want to go out and repaint the roof of my Amazon! I've been imagining it for years as a mild custom, sort of a miniature Ford shoebox custom. Maybe it's time to make that dream a reality!

dlandberg, what is the function of the long sloping structure leading into that barn-like building? Is it a conveyor to move materials upstairs?

I speak a few scattered words of Svensk. I'm American, but I have lots of Swedish blood in my veins. I'm part Tholson, part Lyckan, but both of my Swedish families have been in the US for many generations. One of my Lyckan relatives purchased land long ago from William Penn, for whom the state of Pennsylvania is named. He died fifty years before the American revolution, so the Lyckan's have been here a very long time! I understand that Lyckan is not a common Swedish name. For some reason, a couple of brothers emigrated to the US and changed their names from Andersson to Lyckan. They apparently had lots of children, and there were once lots of Lyckans in Pennsylvania, but seven generations later, they are now spread throughout the U.S.

I guess I'm a bit of a Swede culture lover too, especially the mixtures of Swedish and U.S. culture. I like the way Swedes have adapted custom car culture and rockabilly music and made both their own. I'm still kicking myself for missing the car show at Viva Las Vegas this year, since my favorite Swedish rockabilly band, Emmy Lou and the Rhythm Boys, were playing there:
