what?! chemicals, gasoline, jet fuel and burning rubber are my colognes of choice. seriously, who doesn't like a little grit under the 'nails with a few cuts and scars on the hands?
maybe yet another reason I'm officially single. plenty of girls like the old cars. very few appreciate the greasemonkey lifestyle, fixing your own stuff on the side of the road with whatever's in the trunk or being in the garage over watching a movie.

 

ya' the ironic part is everytime she actually watches me fix something I get laid. I just have to wash my hands REALLY good first.

My girl use to work on planes, so she's a DIY kinda girl to begin with. That's what caught my attention in the first place. I just opened her eyes up to older cars and styles. She's not a gearhead, but extremely tolerant of my interest in cars. Other than when I show her a pic of something on here, and whine about how much I want one... then she ignores me and goes back to reading...

My wife of 15yrs (together for nearly 18) supports everything I wanna do. Before we were married she bought me a 72 Harley "Night Train" (the real one!) because the Sportster wasn't too comfy. I did the right thing with the bike...sold it for over twice what we had in it to buy a house. She cried like a baby but got over it fast. I'm pretty much all about cars and motorized shit. She snowmobiles with me and is enthusiastic about it. She helped me at the track when I was racin. She attended all the car shows and banquets during the resto period and is always willing to go along with my addiction. She's promised to help me chop the top on the truck and is looking forward to making it a "HAMB chop" and a group of like-minded sickos joining in on the fun.

I smell what yer steppin in bro. Congrats. In my opinion you both could do a whole lot worse. Now quit fuckin around and give her yer last name!

 

I found a keeper 38 years ago. She thought I was the only guy in the world that liked old cars then. She helps with the sanding, cleans parts, and generally helps me out in the garage. We spend our time working on, driving and looking for old cars. She loves nothing more than travelling around the countryside finding old cars. She is actually better at it than I am. A holiday usually means going to an event somewhere and the trip involved there and back in the old tin. Gotta love it. Pat.

 

Bryan, I met Alex at last years Autorama and I'll tell you, if you ever let her go it's YOUR loss , not her's Just kidding ,but I'm sure you know what I mean. It's truely rare when you find someone who is as intellegent as her, so damn good looking, and can actually tolerate this old car thing that you just shouldn't take a chance on loosing her. I'd say a ring and a permanent comittment would be the proper (only) direction to head.

Dude, you are one lucky...well you know. You guys who find car chicks are lucky. Hell you guys who find ones that will put up with the lifestyle are lucky. It is hard to meet women in general, let alone "good" ones. Anyway, Congrats on the Anniversary.

 

Congratulations....she sounds like a keeper. I am one of the lucky ones too. My wife enjoys working on our projects as much as I do. She knows her way around the shop and isn't afraid to get grease under her fingernails. She has found several projects over the years and convinced me to buy/build them. I bought her a 55 Buick for her last birthday and she bought me a 53 Studebaker coupe for Christmas. Both cars are projects that we will build together. Been married 34 years and feel very lucky to have her.

 

On the first date with my wife, I picked her up in my '56 Chevy. As we were leaving, the muffler blew a hole in itself, so without asking, she went in the house, got a #10 can, tin snips and some bailing wire and helped my make temporary repairs.

We've been married 41 years next month !!

You are a lucky guy..nothing like a woman who supports you, the alternative is gruesome..I met my girlfriend in 1968 ,she was in High School, didn't smoke or drink and was driving a new Beetle..I had long hair, a little leather bag full of stuff hangin from my belt and was drivin a 49 Caddie..I guess I was influencial, soon she bought a 46 Ford panel truck, I put a 327 innit for her, she got accepted to a college in Oregon and off she went..so 35 years later, we are back together, she had collected a dozen or so cars(had to be my influence,why else would a chick want a 59 Edsel? cuz they're pretty?), plenty of stuff for her and I to work on..I somehow wound up with the 46 panel, still have it, and this time I'm putting 500 Caddy V/8 innit for her...true love...hang on to it man, we only get to do this once

I'm lucky ,too. My wife loves my bike ,cool car shows and drag racing! Hell, she can take the nitro fumes in the pits a lot longer than I can. No hot rod yet, but were working on it.

 

Been with my babe for 25 years, married to her for 20 years. She isn't exactly a car girl, but she has great interest in whatever intersts me. She is always wanting to know the progress, what I have accomplished, etc. It's a two way street though, I always keep tabs on whatever she is into too. she loves to ride in the cars, loves to go to car shows, etc. But I love to go shopping with her sometimes, or go to movies, etc. cuz I love her. She is my obsession and she knows it! That makes her tolerate a HELL of a lot!

But we enjoy the space from each other too, and having our own interests. It makes the time together more fun cuz we have a lot to talk about and learn about each other.

 

When a hotrodder lands HIS GRUBBY ass hands on a nice girl, if she doesn't slap him silly, she teaches him to BATH on a regular basis.

i think she looks hotter in the pic where she's working on the car. i've been with my girlfriend 18 years on sat also, she helps with the cars, goes to junkyards and goes to swapmeets with me........she even slept in the back of the elco when it rained at pomona and didn't even think twice about it.

I've got a 1976 model that I've tought to weld, she's great with the longboard & water sanding. She's preety sharp too, she can tell a 94 from a 97 or a babbit pounder from a pressure 235 etc. But she can't cook.

I also think she needs a condenser... 'Cause there aint no more spark.

An amaxing woman! I did promise her that I would keep it down to six cars at a time in the yard,but that has been busted several times and she keeps forgiving me any way. L.O.L.
