I lost a lot of sleep, ruined my credit rating and beat up my walet pretty good. I worked on my truck untill 10pm or later every day of the week, after runing my shop. Didn't go to any shows or hangouts. Only went out to dinner twice, one was a Denny's. And called in just about all my good guy points.

What good came of it all, I am about to show you all the fruits of my labor. But first I want to give out some kudos to those that deserve them:

My Dad, Len Szymanski, for literaly working his fingers to the bone sanding and doing the body work and paint.

55Safari, Gregg Grisham, for ignoring his family for the last two weeks to help prep for paint and wiring duties.

Chip Quinn, my best bud and punching bag to blame **** on when it went bad. He did a lot of stuff I didn't have time to do.

My Unk Don, general goofball and in charge of painting and polishing.

Jock and Gwen Evans, lending a hand and working hard.

Rick Gantz, former employee and owner of the burned 61 Olds. He did a great job of cheerleading my on when it was getting tough not to mention helping out with prep work for paint.

Tom Roth, My other best bud for body work and cleaning.

Gettingreasy/MrsGetting greasy, Jesse Nathan and Camile and Deyomatic, Steve Deyo for staying until 5am Thursday night putting parts on after painting. You guys rock!

If I forgot anyone I am sorry for the oversight but it has been a hell of a buildup for me.

I have pics of the progress from painting to completion but I will spare you (and myself) from some of the deatails. I think you can imagine what seven people ganged up on one vehicle at the same time looks like...

Fast forward to Friday morning, the day we leave for Vegas

Thursday consisted of a old carb that needed to be gone through, Chip and Jerry cleaned it up just fine. Solved a vaccuum leak caused by a new thick carb base gasket. A few more adjustments and we put it on the ground...

Friday morning was a ***********. Everyone was ready to go but me, still needed to adjust the clutch and I kept throwing belts. Went through three sets in an hour. Did some "adjustments" to the Alan Grove engine brackening and we were on our way.

We left town after 5pm Friday.

I forgot to put a vent in the gas tank, this caused a problem puting fuel in. OGNC came through with a NC member Damon, who opened his house up and tool box for some midnight repairs on Saturday.

I had a blast, got killer gas mileage due to the Tremec TKO trans. No real problems to overcome other than spiting belts of when I got carried away and revved it over 6500rpm, even dropped one on the "strip". No real drama untill we left town Sunday afternoon.

Made it home without too much trouble. The throttle was sticking a bit which made driving over Hoover dam a bit interesting. I think the anti-freeze from boiling over after losing a fan belt did the linkage in.

Must feel good being able to thrash on your own stuff. Being in business the customers come first, but there are times when "IT'S MY TURN". Truck looks outstanding, is there anything else you've planned to do besides drive it?

That's one of the sweetest looking late model trucks i've ever seen. There's not a thing you could do to improve it's looks in my opinion (and i'm one to want to cut **** to pieces)... it's very singular in it's style.. I can't see it as anything else. Absolutely love it.

  28. The truck looks great! Nice to see it come so far.

  29. Love your truck man. The grill looks right at home. You need to send me pics and info on that trick.
