Rooting through lots boxes of parts from this Model A project I have here I came across this.

I've been searching the net for answers and haven't found much.

2 barrel intake and Stromberg carb.

    Can anybody help with history?

Having the A motor rebuilt and wondered if I should add it or stick with the stock carb setup.

I can provide a little. This particular pattern was also used by Ansen. Not sure how make it first. I'd have to ***ume Burns.

You also have the often missing arm which is good news for you.

It is a considered a "cold" intake. Some, albeit not many, Model A intakes had a heat box that would get close to the exhaust manifold to provide heat.

Clean it up, use it, and enjoy it. Depending what you got done to your motor, a Stromberg or Holley will be plenty of cfm.

    Good luck.

That line coming out the back of the carb is a fuel line for a gas heater right???

I think it is can anyone verify

I don't know, but I am betting it will look pretty cool polished up and detailed.

Yep. What is odd is there is evidence of two taps for a line to a gas heater.

See that little one next to the acc. pump? That was one too.

SCORE! I've used those on several Model A's. You'll need to re-jet and at 57 I can't remember any of the numbers any more. Mileage increase is noticeable. The car will idle. Don't go up a steep hill unless you add a fuel pump :D

It was in the many boxes of parts that I brought back from Ohio wheh we moved my father-in-law with us.

He parked the A in '68 and it has sat since then. He intended to install it but never got around to it. He can't remember even having it.

The motor is being rebuilt stock (with the modern reliability changes) and the only things I'm probably going to change would be this carb/manifold setup, electronic ignition, and a head with higher compression. Nothing radical.

    Should be a good addition.

Sounds like the one I built in '70. The only other additions I did were a new engle cam, lightened flywheel, and balance to 10th gram as well as dynamic balance. Is Engle still grinding Model A cams? They only had one grind and it was perfect for a single 2 barrel and a compression bump. That little car was an axle key snapper. It would idle perfect at way low rpm with no cam rump dee rump. It would surprise the hell out of a warmed over '40 coupe.

They made a dual too, I have one on my B engine on my current project. I also have one of those arms :D.
Here's a pic of it mocked up, it's running now.
