Sunday morning update-So here are some pictures as we sit right now. The new tires and wheels are on. The chasis is pretty much all set to get the body set on it. Besides the work associated with the body, the only other thing we have to do is weld on the radiator mounts once the body is on so we can set the correct alighment of the grill shell with the cowl.
I got my dash back and I love how it turned out. Figured I'd do the copper. Just something different. Im not going to do the whole copper accents everywhere but just the dash and one item in the front of the car and one in the rear.
Here are some pictures of the emergency brake stuff Spitbucket. Sorry they arent great. Cell phone pictures.....
So we should have the body here around 11. I have some people coming over to help and as the day progresses and time permits I'll try to post some update pictures. Should be a fun Sunday.
Thanks Omar! So far we are all set to get it today so if something changes and my transport dosent work out I'll call you.

Joe, Thanks for the pics of the bones and parking brake arrangement. It is amazing how similar these cars appear at a quick glance, yet are so different in the details. Parking brakes are one of those things that fall into the required, but not cool area. A lot of thinking and work goes into something that is taken for granted. The more closer your car gets to completion, the better it looks. Looking forward to more progress reports.

So we got the body back and it looks good. Not perfect, but I did not expect it to. Overall its great but there are some spots that blatently need more work, but I can touch it up and compared to how it looked before!!!! It was a totally different car.....
We lined the body up and had to make some chasis adjustments. That turned out ok. After lining the body up we found that the rear axle dosent line up exactly in the middle of the rear wheel wells. I had no idea because when I got the car there were no wheel wells. Oh well. Its not a perfect car. At this point we are just going forward. My buddies Curt and Turtle are here helping to prep the interior and we are going to start on all the latches, windshield, windows etc as soon as the body is down. Back to the garage....

Thanks for all your support guys. It means a lot and I appreciate it.

Body is on and now we are mounting the steering column and modifying the dash to make it all fit. Its going well, but theres a long way to go. Im feeling good about it though.
    Now I need another drink....

WOW - Must be nice to live in Southern Cali, work on a great rod with your buds and be able to bee-itch about yer bodyman! :) If it was me I DEFINITELY wouldn't thrash on it to git 'er done - I'd enjoy the experience. You got it so good you don't even realize it! (He says in a positive, tongue in cheek, wish I where you kinda way....;)

So the dash is ready for the final bolt in. I have to drill the holes for the steering column mount and then thats done. Lucky conferred with Jack the dog about some options and they came to a good agreement. Last thing we did was mount the rear taillight. Now it has a Plate on it so I can call it a car again. :) Off to dinner then back to work......
