Today I started on the wiring before Piero and Lucky got here. Rerouted a bunch of stuff and got it all square. When they got here Lucky did all the setup for my seat which I took and dropped off the frame and wood at the upholstery shop. Should have that weds. Lucky started laying out the subframe for the trunk and he remounted the fuel tank and made room for the battery. Now I will have a lot more trunk space for things. Piero painted the 16 inch rear wheels we decided to go with and he fogged all four. It looks great especially in the sun. He then tweaked out on the front end and painted inside the dropped axle and the brake backing plates. Now Im going back out to put the dash and cluster in for the final time.

Ok. After very little sleep I got up and started tinkering. Lucky came over and started fabbing the radiator mounts. It was so high above the cowl before that now we had to move it forward and down to get it to a decent height. The way we are doing it isnt exactly how we'd like, but it'll do fine. Lucky took off and I have been working every moment I havent been helping my lady with her time sensitive project. Big Creep came over to gimme a hand and goddamn did I need it. Just tired and a bit stressed so a second pair of eyes really helped. The front windshield is in, the side glass is in, coil mounted, doors lined up as best as we could, installed the cluster, wired it, installed the steering column and other crap. Found I am having some issues with the Lokar shifter so I am going back to adjust it now.
Its looking like more of a car.
Lucky is coming back tonight to finish the last big things up. Goddamn Im tired.
Im happy with how its turning out. There are some things I wont have time to do before I go, but thats always the case. The car looks great in pics but up close you can really see the areas that could use some love still. The body guys werent great, some of the metal was so thin before that its just not great. Probably could have used some more patch panels but thats not a suprise to me. I didnt expect it to be perfect. I know that putting yourself up against a time deadline is not the best way to do everything 100% but honestly I never planned to go 100%. It will be a fun driver that is much better than it was before.

Figured out the shifter issue. Goddamn cable is bending itself up in the shift lever instead of pushing the detent. Tomorrow after the morning whatever I have to find another Lokar shifter hopefully somewhere closer to me than Mooneyes or Reids. Damnit.

Lucky just left and I think we are doing pretty well. The trunk floor supports are all done, windows, latches, handles, weather stripping, radiator mounts, deck lid, trans cooler lines are all done. Tomorrow I need to get and install a shifter, Bolt in the fuel tank, pickup the seat, put in the quarter windows, get radiator hoses, install an electric fan(The radiator sits so low that the hoses would have to go up and over the fan. Even if I cut the fan down itd still be odd. Im going to remove the fan and unfortunately there will be a lot of space between the radiator and the water pump but so be it) Install the headlights and mounts and hopefully drive it over to Ians to have the floors done.I think it should come together. I was doubting it a bit earlier but the lack of sleep was making me negative.

Jack was trying to assist Lucky but then he went for the pizza grab. Sneaky bastard.

I haven't known of too many cars built that were not up against a time deadline.
    That kicks us into overdrive.

Look at it like this.. If you run out of space in the trunk you can store stuff behind the grille :)
