Here is a picture of the front of the head on my 327. I'm unsure what this head is. Would it be compatible with the stock 327, 300hp intake from approx 62-67.

Looks like a later model head, like a 350/307 with that cast in bolt boss. But I ain't a Shiverlay expert or nuthin' either

  3. I can't say for sure what it is but it is a 67 (?) and up style with accessory mounts in the head.

Yes, they will interchange, but what you really want to know is what the casting numbers are so you know the size of the combustion chamber, port size etc....

The bolt holes were first used in 1969, so it's probably a later head. You'll pull the valve cover and look at the casting number and casting date eventually, might as well do it now.

As far as intake manifold compatibility, no worries there.

Compatibility is one thing, but whether it's a good combustion chamber and runner size is another. It will bolt on just fine, but until you know the casting number you wont know valve size, or other specifics that may make it better or worse.

  6. Look up the casting number.
Is it comparable? Well it’s bolted on so I’d say yes.
The best combo? Can’t determine from just a picture.
If it runs good and not giving problems, drive it

  7. Looks like it could be the casting mark for a '69 350-300 #041 head? But bolt holes were earlier in some big truck heads, for brackets to hold air compressors and stuff. Gene.

Looks just like the 041s I'm working on now.
