I got my Sanderson Headers that I bought at this years LARS, today. I hope to have them on this weekend. I got the Flathead Huggers. What headers do you run on your cars?

I used the******* Header kit when I did the V8 swap into my 1972 Pinto Runabout in 1977. They called it the "Radical Rat" due to the brown paint and the wheelie bars that looked like a rat tail. I loved my******* Headers....

  2. I usually run Headmon if I can or make my own. When Sanderson was still around he bent up a set of pipes for my bike once.

I have a set of Heddman that I had on my Dauntless 225. They sound really good. I'm selling them now on the HAMB.
I'm not that good of a welder to make my own headers. Wish I was and had the patience to do it.
How cool that Sanderson made you a set him self.

Hedman......truly "traditional" been around for many years...Bob Hedman and Sandy Belond started out together back in the forties....Hedman is now owned by Bob Vandergriff,Sr,,,who was usually with Bob Jr when he was still running the fuelers at NHRA meets....sad to see Jr get out of racing now..but there is more to that story too.

I have Sandersons on my 348. Mostly because thats all I could find that would fit my truck and I can't make my own. I am happy with the way they fit.

Flathead Dave,,,I am not here to dispute*******,but I have some doubts...You understand that SANDERSON is owned by a LADY.....Don't think she ever welded any headers for anyone..

Huntsville, Ala? I was attached to the 1165th M.P. Co. during the 1st Gulf War and a lot of thier soldiers were from Huntsville. One of the NCO's ran a furniture store in Huntsville.

Very true Don,however when a warehouse needs a large volume of sales..Doug was a little overpriced...And Doug Thorley was/is a good friend of mine..
Ermies parts were never very popular down here in the southwest...but,Damn,he sure knew how to build fine roadsters.

Although Donna Smith currently owns Sanderson, she did not start the company. She worked for the original owner (Fred if I recall) and ended up buying out the company.

Quality is Never Cheap, Cheap is Never Quality ~ LOL

Ermie's stuff was much more popular than anyone knew - Almost all of his production was Private Label, thousands of people ran Ermie Headers, and never knew it - well except the VW stuff, which sold well under the Thunderbird Brand.

  14. Sanderson headers was started by old man Sanderson, he was welding headers in the '70s. It was not started by a lady.

If you bought a Weiand intake in the last 20 years you bought an intake from Holley. Holley did not start Weiand, but they ended up owning Weiand.

One cannot apply this brave new world to my life. I was not born here I just traveled and lived until I got here. Most of the time I think I may have made a wrong turn somewhere, I certainly don't belong here.

YOU AND me, Benno! I think I belong somewhere else, too. Cars look so funny now I get 'puzzled'.
I would say we are of the 'Howard the Duck syndrome'.
    On headers:
Had a few pair of Belond 'Equa-Flows' on my flatheads, always high quality.
Called Ermie in the days when one couldn't find tapered cones. He made me a nice pair, very reasonable!
I used to deal with Fred Sanderson, called back some years later and was shocked to talk with Ms. Smith.
    Sticker shock...

I've had a lot of different headers on my cars. The last set I have are from Sanderson, they fit good but the quality of coating has a lot to be desired for the price they charge. I will probably have a talk with a rep at the Louisville nats. I guess they will decide if I ever own another pair or not.

S&S brand, very nicely built but no longer in business.
Two sets, both 28-34 application, one set for my roadster, one of same for my 67 Nova that have been highly modified.

  19. I am absolutely sure that any tetanus shot I ever received was with a square needle. :)

I was born before Jonas Salk saved the world. I am reminded of that fact every day. So perhaps I was vaccinated with a phonograph needle. :D It would have been from an old player that played 78s. :D :D :D

I've had few sets of hedmans over the years. I built the last ones, couldn't find any that looked right for a 60s type build. It wasn't too hard, only took a few days.

These Fentons on my 46 Olds 20150625_164511.jpg

Block huggers on 35 Chebby. Built from a kit, a small scallop on the rear allows for steering shaft clearance. If it produced some genuine HP I wouldn't use them.

Reds headers on my flatty, of course that name is ironic since they are now a lovely shade of blue after startup.

I have lived here since 1978 and have never been on the base except one drive through when a tornado destroyed the Parkway access and everyone had to detour through the*****nal that night until they cleared the roadways.
