Need some help from my HAMB brothers. My friend has a new 32 kit car. Not my cup of tea. But he needs help choosing a cool set of headlights. The whole front end is chrome. Suggestions? ugotpk:confused:

    HAHAHAHA...Burn!

Hey dad the way he's goin with that car the way I see it either to grab some king bee's or the 682 Re-Pops from OTB. For me the king bees are too small and look out of place on a 32, and stock lights even though they're awesome would be pointless with how street rodderish that car is. E and J's would be cool but I would disown you if you wasted an original set on a street rod and they're over a grand anyway..and the repops are junk. I would try and convince him to go with the 682's. C's have the signal on top and the j's are like mine. They're like what's on my car but the reproduction version. Here's a link:

Thanks JR, I will take this to him.

  5. The headlight choice is seriously affected by the rest of the cars style. Highboy, full fendered, hood, no hood, hood top lowboy, Coupe, Roadster...ect...ect.

My Coupe has Guide 682-C lights, pretty big by some folks reasoning, it also has full hood, and big blisters on the hoodsides to clear the Hemi valve covers. So, they are proportional, on my Coupe. See pic.

Popular lights include, 903-J's, King Bees, commercial. It's a very subjective issue.

    Hope this helps, Johnnie.

    Yeah...so do 'Donks'.

Why do some look for the largest lights they can find? We used to use Dietz, King Bee, and other small 7" buckets. We chopped tops.
Suddenly the tops went higher, skyward in fact. These commercial headlamps appeared, we saw a 'Street Rod thing' coming to pass.

BLC 904 A's, the one with the little dome light on top are really cool but kind of hard to find.

  15. Ummm... larger headlights on a car can look great AND have been done long before Street Rods. I know Clayton's T is a "newer" car, but Ryan seems to like it- the pic below started Ryan's "Sinister" thread.

With all due respect, you can take your "donk" comment and take a nice long walk off a short pier...

What's wrong with "Big Ones" ?
    Differant strokes differant folks.
If we all like the same thing, this would be a boring hobby.

Kit cars should have round headlights, no exceptions.
