I am the same , have to search for pics but I had a 1940 Plymouth Business Coupe with no bumpers and sat low in the front. My 1941 Kb1 International looked good with out both as stock and then chopped and lowered all the way around . The Kb1 looked best chopped with my 1934 Chevy Master grille. Really gave it the old hot rod vibes.

IMHO 1933 Ford. Gotta love that swoopy grille! Must have fenders though!

  9. Pretty much all of them built from 50s and older cars.
I like a five seven with the bumper and grill removed. Never owned one that way but I like 'em like that.

    Think this minus the snorkel

Sorry to say this HRP, but I do not consider anything post 1942 being a "Hot Rod". I'd venture not many Hot rod "boomers" do. Nice cars you pictured, but, "hot rods" not in my definition.

Every time I am ready to put the bumper on the front of my 40, it winds up back on the shelf.

20190411_164846.jpg I haven't started any mods but I do believe my '38 Zephyr would look great with the bumper gone. Of course it's not a hot rod but will be the tow car if that counts

I tend to like bumpers on the later 30s stuff, but I think a buddy's '38 looks pretty spiffy without one
