59 Chevy Super Short, overall length is 17'. In 64 the original (purchaser from the school district) owner had a 327 installed and used the bus to tour the country.

A quick google and I found "The Rising Suns" are still around. Looks like they really needed a bus, at one time there were more than 23 band members touring at one time!

I rode the short bus and it looked nothing like that one nor was it fun. The other kids used to pick on me! I wish that was not true.

I got the bus from the Rising sun's road manager. They were inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll hall of fame in 2010. They resently had a reunion and preformed locally

The band logos painted on it are the coolest part. I wouldn't repaint it, or if I did, I'd do it in a way that works around the lettering. Maybe a 60's style panel job where those areas could remain exposed. Neat truck, good score.

Great score. Looked like for as many guys were in the band they would've needed a full size bus!

Looks like fun. We did ride to school in one that was quite similar to that when my sister and I were in high school. It was used because we had three families who lived 24 miles down Highway 97 at the sheep ranches who had kids in school.

Cool little bus that ought to be a lot of fun when you get it fixed up right.

I think we ought to put those complete B-52 crew stations in the bus, including the tailgunner station.;)

That is really cool. I can't believe the band is still in action. I would be tempted to keep/restore the band graphics. I think they add to the character and could make a nice theme if you choose to show it.
