....beside the obvious slick? A street tire that I can have the black wall out and it look good and not stupid. This would be for the rear of the vehicle.

    Any pics?

    Here's a pic of a BF Goodrich 285/70R-15 on a 10 x 15" wheel.

I was thinking 295/50/15...a little low profile, but not bad. I know BFG makes this size. I see them used once and a while on e-pay.

Zumo, I'd go with the BFG in 295/50. I had a set under my 71 Chevelle and it looked nice and wide from the back. 295 is 11.6 inches wide, so I guess a 305 would be a foot across? I'm not sure how much wider than that you can go if you're sticking it under your truck, the largest I ever personally used was a 275.

285/70/15 BFGs here too! 15x10 rims. Comes to 30'' tall & 9'' footprint with a 12'' width from bulge to bulge. Pretty big tire! I think there getting kind of hard to find now from what I`ve heard.

the original "Sport Truck T/A" was (and marked as) a 31x10.50/15, which was replaced by the 285/70/15. a great tire, nice and tall, fit inside the wheel openings better than the uber-wide (and shorter) 50 series tires. they should be readily available, but might not be stocked everywhere. check summit or the tirerack...

the 285's work nice.....i also ran a pair of 28x12.50 et streets.....but would have liked a 30 tall instead .....occassionally you can run across some old 315 70 15's.....but they are pretty rare anymore......brandon

I was thinking the same or close to it. I actually had 305 50 15s on the rear on my 69 LeMans, same family as yout chevell and they looked huge. The rim was a 15 x 8 so I know the 10 would still be ok.
