Lately all I'm seeing later at night is auctions, paid programming, and reruns. Why is it that all the good programming is on during the day when everyone is at work? And some days it's Car Crazy and Pimp My Ride reruns all day long. Anyone else notice this?
er Speed channel ? I would rather watch reruns on Speed than whats on the big three right now ( well maybe not pimp my ride) but the other show for sure !
if you have cable and don't have a DVR you are getting screwed unless you can be there to watch it when it airs. I got rid of cable about a year ago and get most of my stuff either streaming over the net or downloaded. I watch it when I want to.
Is it just "SPEED"? Oh well...you get my point. Programming seems to be for the guys who don't have to work during the day...very frustrating. I guess either I rent/buy a DVR or just accept that nothing is on at night.
the channel has been the ****s for years. wrecked is another one i don't understand. yes it is an interesting show (its actually not that bad) but it doesn't belong on speed channel..
I have an idea, maybe they should show racing on SPEED. I'm sure there is enough going on to air it 24 hours a day. ****s to pay for cable, then have to watch a infomercial program - I say revolt.
They **** since they got bought out by nascar, its all the same **** over and over. How many pre, and after race shows do you need. Before they got bought out it was almost all i watched, but now I hardly ever watch it any more.
I didn't even know NASCAR bought them out...THAT makes perfect sense. Is there anything out there like the SPEED Channel of 4 years ago? I miss all the hot rod and truck building shows, tech stuff, car show coverage, etc...
Speed is what they call it now. With most of the Nascar stuff on ESPN and the IRL on ... what the hell channel is it on, Outdoor or something? It may as well not be on at all, but I digress... anyways this time of year all Speed has to show is a little practice coverage and a ton of reruns of other ****. And they hype the hell out of that ****, I think I see the same commercial for Wrecked 35,000 times just in what little I do watch Speed. The commercial is on the air longer than the actual episode ever is by the time you add them all up.
Man all TV ****s. I bought 2 new digital TV's and although there are twice as many channels to watch half the time the picture goes off and on and then you need to know how to understand Spanish,Jap and Chinese for the additional channels. last year I took the Dish TV and threw it in the trash with all there **** since all I ever saw was reruns and commercials. Better off without it any way. Now that they have screwed up local TV with the HD stuff I shut it off also. More time to work on the hotrods.
They backpedalled just like the Nashville Network when they got bought out. I loved watching WoO Sprints, Hav-a-Tampa dirt late models, USAC stuff. Now, not much left on tv. Picking up Pimp My Ride, what a waste of time. Along with several other shows.
Unless a race is on, or perhaps Sunday's recaps, there isn't much point in watching Speed... it's either yearS old re-runs, or car trash like programs like Pinks, demo derbys or figure-8 school bus racing (I think we can blame Lucas Oil for those!). IMO, any channel that has to run hours of promotional programs per day and a never ending series of ****py re-runs isn't really worth of being called a "channel" at all - just a couple of fat guys in a dark, cold room inserting tapes into video players, eh? Another *****ie, anyone? The real trouble, it would seem, is that Speed (and many other channels) have managed to convince / brain-wash their sponsors into believing that is exactly the kind of programming auto enthusiasts want - so the dumb-*** sponsers keep paying for the same ****, over and over and over, all the while the Speed keep selling us down the drain. Gary
Speed Channel has gone way down hill in the last few years since it was sold. They actually used to cover racing all over the world and all types of racing here in the USA but now it's all reality **** and reruns. It's a big dissappointment. I used to watch it almost all of the time, now I only watch when World of Outlaws,Dave Despain or a NASCAR race is on.
Try watching the HAMB and following all the *****in links posted. Way more educational. Way more control over the content you choose to view. Simply way better. I'm pretty sure Speed's decline is linked to being purchased by Fox, not by nascar. Legends of Motorsports are sorely missed however.
When it was the Speed Channel they had some pretty neat programs.. The Lost Drive In and Dave Dispaign's (SP) Victory Circle which spot lighted the 50s, 60s and 70s Nascar races. Might as well watch the return of the rubber bullet now that its Speed.
The only racing I watch is Formula 1 and as long as they keep up the fantastic coverage of it ya won't hear a peep out of me. The only thing that does worry me a bit is a couple grand prix a year are now broadcast by Fox on regular tv and they do a **** job like cutting off the drivers interviews and some other before and end of race stuff that's nice to watch. I can live without Nascar and the NHRA is even worse. Gimme sportsman doorslammer drag racing anytime!
I really never thought that the type of programming I used to enjoy on the OLD Speed would go away or turn into dumbed down reruns and paid programming...I guess it's time to crank the tunes and hit the garage at night.
Speed went down the poopy chute when they went all NASCAR. I used to be able to see all sorts of racing that you could not see anywhere else. Bikes, boats, planes, all sorts of auto racing. Now it is mostly NASCAR drivel - enough already!!! Even their Formula 1 coverage is much diminished. I was actually surfing for some F1 coverage this past Sunday - caught a show with Stacey David. It was good to see him again, but he by himself cannot rescue the hopeless mess SPEED has become.
I don't have television either. Call me old fashioned I make my own entertainment besides here on the HAMB.-Weeks
I sorta like P*** Time. It's fun to try and guess what times the different cars will run, but I usually get it wrong.
