Of course, that's only one part of it...the other parts we might be able to identify better with some clear. large pictures. Which can be a challenge to get, I know.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Here's a couple of the right 1/4. They still have the flanges on the inside, but someone has made the center piece and trunk lid.

Looks like someone sorted through a pile of body parts and came up with a reasonably decent roadster. The spring in front setup gives it a 50's east coast vibe.

  9. That's a '30 dash

  10. That's kinda what I was thinking, too, but the job number on the cowl tells the story.

I agree. I believe most of the sheet metal on 29-30 chevy closed cars is identical. Its hard to find reliable information on the early bowtie stuff, but I wouldn't be surprised if they mixed and matched parts from factory. I used to have a 29 sedan with 1930 door handles, and based on how they mounted to the door, I have no reason to believe they weren't original to the car, the 1929 style dash was also definitely original.

This is a 29 dash for comparison (not my car picture is from google)

NOT a 30 dash. My father in laws coupe (post 25 and this one) was an all original car, at least when we started. Please ignore the insert, it's a sore subject with me. Yuck!

Notice the reveal on top. 30 is nearly identical to the one pictured above. The 30 doesn't drop down as far in the middle, or maybe doesn't cut up as high on the sides. Regardless, yours is not the original dash (not that it matters).

29 sedan cowl, 29/30 coupe/sedan doors, 29/30 coupe quarters and 31' dash. At least they're all Chevy panels, haha.

What are your plans for it? A 31' Chevy radiator shell would help round it out a bit up front.

Thanks, I've been threatening to sell it. I've had it for 11 years now and can't ever seem to get it done. This is something like the 5th engine I've had in it and the only one that's ever ran in the car since I've owned it. I keep getting sidetracked on race cars, mud trucks, and choppers and it don't seem like I'll ever get it done.

Is that a Ford V8 in a Chevy hot rod? Haha! That's a neat twist on the usual. Very cool! 8)

Yup! One of these days I'll do a build thread. This is what happens when a life long Ford man buys a Chevy.
