What is "STAR" blasting?

I have heard of various media, but someone said something about starblasting yesterday, and I'll admit I have not a clue what STAR blasting is. I found a friend of mine actually has a protable media blaster and has let me have free reign with it. Just wanted to know what star blasting is before I purchase any media.

PLEASE! Before anyone tries to sandblast anything get a proper lung protector, that ultra fine dust can do some damage in later years.

 

Good advice Kid. I work at a power plant and safety is number one here and at home. ****, I even use masks when mowing the lawn on dry days!
