Hey, thats not an olds but an sbc. [IMG] A guy I know did the same thing. He said the olds cover fits right over the chev cover. Any rodder gonna know an sbc right away no matter what cover on it. That one really looks good!

I'd have to vote for the early Hemi & the Nailheads. The Toyota Hemis were made in the 70s.

Hey Travis.... same name....similar tastes [IMG]
I've got some Corvette finned covers I haven't put on mine yet.

Any good thoughts on how to run my spark wires? They relax to much and have melted a little on the exhaust.

  9. I think this is pretty darn cool. No idea where I got it from, but I've had this shot for a while (I checked the file date and it's from '01). '61 Starliner mit SOHC. Of course, anything with four letters on the valve covers works for me! [IMG]

My favorite engine right now is my 425 Caddy because it was free. Thanks BellM

Don't know if this will work or not, but I'm trying to attach a pic of a 409 that I built for a customer. I think it'd look pretty good in a thirties hoodless rod or a mid fities gasser or...., but it's in a 62 SS Impala. Which is ok too.

I'm with Flash on this one for a trad motor IMO can't beat a blown Ardun.
Second place in my book V-12 lincon motor tied with the Hemi.

Later engines: SOHC Ford 427 or BOSS 429

Caddy flatheads are garbage. A Flat ford 4-6-8 would do it for me. Especially with a joe hunt ohc conversion. SWEET.

  20. My ideal engine would be a bored and stroked 296ci 46-48 Flathead, with a full race Isky cam, Ardun OHV Hemi conversion, 4-carb setup, open headers and a '37 LaSalle floorshift trans........but that'll never happen ;)

White's hemi sounds good, and it is fast, but those headers look like they're about to fall off. It needs a proper set of headers.

Dont worry the headers wont fall off, their tig welded on. I built those headers almost six years ago! I built them in one night to make it to the march meet in Bakersfield. The problem is some of the tube is aluminized and some just raw. Unfortunately I am to busy at my shop to build new headers, I should have put a proper coating on them after I built them. The Headers seem to work good the car went 12.80 not leaving very hard with no tuning what so ever. Crew maybe you can come over and help me build some new ones?

I've always wanted a 392 Hemi...I've waited a long time for one from one of my dads buddies. But that never worked out...So i snatched up a 348 w/the intentions of putting that in but somebody just had to have it so thats gone and now I'm getting the final pieces together for a 303 Olds....I still dream of that Hemi cause when i think of the word Hot Rod- a Hemi is one of those pieces that has to be in there somewhere....
