what is the difference between 28-29 and 30-31 model a deck lid

i have googled my butt off and still cant find what is the difference between the ford model a deck lid from the 28-29 and 30-31 i have a 30-31 coupe roadster and i need a deck lid but i was wandering if i can use a 28-29 or not so any info would really help me out thank you

 

99% sure there are no differences between the two.

 

Brookville lists two different part no.s
I seem to recall that the curve radius may be different.

rumble lids are different in the latch area...not sure about a trunk though

 

28-29 have a raised area by the rumble lid latch, on the inner skin. there's a recess in the trunk rail to accommodate this. i've heard there might be a little difference in the contour but have swapped year to year and they seem to line up fine, given just about every original decklid needs some tweaking. a 30-31 will bolt right up to a 28-29 but to use a 28-29 on a 30-31 you have to either cut a notch in the trunk rail or remove the raised area on the decklid by the rumble latch.

 

I've got a 31 deck lid on my 29, but its plastic - fitted up with a little work, mainly because it wasn't perfect on the inside, and converted from dickie seat to trunk.

The guy I got it off fitted a lourved 29 deck lid to his 31, and it fitted fine
