1936? Pontaic Sampson truck, can't remeber exact year but I do recal only about 65 built during a 2 year run. It sold for $800 about 25 years ago.
I wish I could find real production numbers and info for these years of Samson/Pontiac trucks...

Just saw a 'Barn find' running 1927 LeSalle Roadster with Flathead V8

Muntz Jet with the Lincoln V8

    1928 REO nicely restored

The shop just finished a 70 HemiCuda, Number 12 of 44 Canadian car production.

...My brother sold his 63 1/2 427 Galaxie 500XL Ragtop for $800. dumbass. The bumper tits were more than that. Running driving new top and recent paint, sold in the early 80s.
He also sold his ragtop 67 Firebird, hoodtack, stick etc. (again, new top and recent paint) for about the same bunch of pennies.

... 31 Canadian Model A deluxe Rumbleseat is one of 425~ Deluxe Coupes, About %20 were Rumbleseat and %80 Trunk models so it would be 1 of less than 90 built in Canada (there is a difference)
. It won't get hot rodded anytime soon.

39 Mercury two door (toudor?) that I sold for $700, It Was and old circle track racer, dented rear fenders but the sheet metal wasn't that bad at all..

A tucker parked two blocks from my house in a garage that an old man owned. He died and his brother kept his body in the house to collect his social security checks. It was pink, and anytime I went by the house I used to look into the garage thinking on how to remove the car, long gone now!

    A Steco Cycle Car

Have actually seen and touched the car.

Its a prototype that may have never been run alongside a Steco airplane that may have never been flown

Engine utilizes the upper end of a engine designed by Perry E Mack who was the first person to ever have his picture taken with a Harley Davidson.

Believe it or not there is NOS literature for this vehicle currently on ebay.

Does any body have any other info on Perry E Mack?

  6. A few rareities, and I'll try to post pics later on tonight...

Dmar, which is a fiberglass racecar, made by a guy in Deleware. He sectioned a Devin lengthwise to narrow its frontal profile, then refaired the rear wheels and adjusted the areodynamics of the from. The dropped a small block in it. Apparently it has more than 550HP, don't know about that but it is pretty. 1 of 1.

An Ardun powered Allard, 1 of 3. Same Allard chassis and body, beautiful Ardun flattie in side. I don't have any pics of this one as the collector wouldn't let me take any.

1930's Packard Moxie advertising car. Don't remember the year but I think 37? Cool car, with an Aluminium horse mounted to it where the passengers would sit. The greatest thing about it is that you drove from the back of the horse! Also saw a recreation of the Rolls Royce Moxie (pictured below) advertising car, recreated, but still pretty cool. Both were one-offs of course.

Serrinissima Jet, late 60's, posted some images of it on this post...http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=198007

1937(?) Benz 540K owned by the Rockefellers. stuck in a condo village out in Long Island! with a couple of Avantis (originals) and an Apollo.

A Stevens-Duryea, 1907, I think. It is in an antique place between Durham NH and Concord. Belongs to the family and has been owned since new. There probably aren't more than 20 left.

Plus an assortment of Essex, early Hudsons and Stanley Steamers, got to love those, not aan ounce of emmisions and capable of over 120mph.

  7. when we were in reno a few years back fo the espn games our 99 subs fuel pump took a dump and while at the local dealership for repairs on the next hoist was the 53 vette nomad clone ..
the service tech asked me if i knew what it was .. "of coarse the only nomad 53 vette i said but its a fake"

i was stoked to look it over
they were dialing in the rear suspension as the tires were rubbing real bad.....

oh ya i had a 55 pontiac 2door wagon not a safari .. rear end was like a 55 chev .. chev tailite would have fit
still see it sometimes at back to the 50's only one i have ever seen any where

  8. That truck was bult by 'Dual Motors', not Ford. The founder of Dual Motors later built the Dual Ghia cars in the 1950's.

Any ways, in about 1981 I looked over a 1964 Dodge 2dr, the ex-Bud Faubel Super Stock car. Aluminum fenders, hood and doors, but missing the Hemi. At time, I thought it was a bit too much work (radiused rear fender lips) for $1200. I bought a driveable 1966 Hemi Charger that same year for $300, to put it into perspective.

I had a guy GIVE me a '55 Crown Victoria Glasstop a couple years ago. Correct 64B stamp on the VIN tag, one of 1999 produced that year. 292 Y Block, 4 bbl, automatic, AM Radio, power seats, power steering...the works. What a shame, the bottom 6" of the car dissolved into the earth as it sat on mud for the last 25 years. Even in it's sad condition you could still see it's beauty

  10. My Hup according to the Hupmobile Club is one of about 30 417's left and one of 3 417 touring sedans.

  11. Love those disc wheels!

When I was a kid back in the 50's there were a lot of antique car shows with a lot of beautiful old cars, some with straight 8's, straight 12's, V12's and even V16's. I don't know where they are today, but I hope that they are still out there and in grand condition. What a great hobby!!

One that comes to my mind that I remember well was the 1963 Chrysler Turbine car. Typical 60's styling (just a little strange). A friend's father owned a Chrysler Plymouth Dodge dealership and they brought the car to his place for public viewing for a couple of days. Even had a ride in it with my friend, his father and the factory guy. It was pretty neat.

The other memorable car was a 1935 Ford Boattail Roadster. Saw it at a carshow about 6 years ago, really liked the looks.

Probably this thing (not the cop car or the sedan!). I was passing through an intersection near my house and saw it at the stoplight. I flipped open my camera phone and was surprised that I actually caught it in the frame. Boat-cars are weird.

In the early 90's when I was in school, I used to deliver pizzas in my 59 VW 23 window van with factory front safari windows and ambulance fan (really rare factory options). There was a house that I always used to pass by on deliveries that always had really cool and rare cars being restored and painted (the guy was a bad ass painter) and he was doing a real GT40 - he let me check it out - those things have really low roof lines.

  17. by the way, it's a 1919 coe flatbed pickup, this says it's a FWD but i dont know if that is suppose to mean it's somehow fwd or it's the model... never heard of it.. so not sure

  18. I guess the '54 Austin Taxi my son wants isn't all that rare considering some of the ones mentioned here...but for this part of the country, a right hand drive black London Taxi is kinda rare...

$1000....worth it? I dunno...he thinks so, we're trying to figure out how to get it.

  19. My friend and I came across a '49 Hebmuler VW back in 1976. We didn't have the money to buy it($1500.!)so we bought the guys other car,'50 Split-window,ragtop for $1000. Hebs go for about 50K or so now.

  20. I forgot one my friend has.. a 1932 Guilder truck.. built in Poughkeepsie NY with a Hercules engine... made them from like 1925-1932.. supposedly less than 10 left anywhere in the world.. his ain't great but the sheetmetal's all there. He also has that camper conversion '35 Chrysler "housecar" that I don't even know who made it exactly or even when, but it is some kind of early factory job.

Anyone, ever heard of a Marquette? Looks like late 20's to early 30's. I know where one is but not sure if there is any reason to proceed with it. Let me know if anyone knows anything...

I forgot until seeing this COE that there was a large Electric truck right across from the blacksmith shop I worked in At EDAVille RR in Carver Mass.Saw that truck 3 days a week all day for 3 years while working and can't remember the name of it now! It was a cab over with high stake sides and a full length top from front to rear looked like a livestock truck it was from the early 20s and carried about 30 batteries in a rack below the bed

Last night i saw 2 Ford Model T tractor conversions, a company made a kit to turn them into tractors(wider wheel base different seating and no cab and some other things) i just don't remember who it was. Pretty interesting though, not sure how rare, but cool. Oh they also had an overheating problem and they fitted them with big water tanks mounted on the sides.
