4 bolt main, fresh rering/bearing/cam etc. New crank rods. block tanked, rehoned. small dome pistons hypers 5.7 **** rods, **** mid series light crank PC rings Kings race rod and main bearings Durabond coated cam bearings 274xe cam Edelbrock timing set balanced, balancer and flexplate included guy wants $1000 for that, and another $300 for the heads with 2.02 valves 1.94 exhaust valves on early 70's castings with 76cc This is the same guy who had the 406 for $800, but I waited too long and it is gone. Probably can't build it this cheap for $1300 total can I? I know its enough for my falcon too.
383 stroker Chev, or 383 Mopar? If it's a Mopar, that's probably a deal; a Chevy, someone else will have to chime in -
I know the 406 was a steal I am kicking myself for it , what about this engine though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm guessing this dude builds circle track engines that may even run claimer cl***es, thus longevity is not a concern. Judging by the nearly $1300 of parts there, there's not much profit left for machine work. Claimer engine guys just slap em together without measuring the important stuff for street longevity. Whether or not to buy it......totally depends on how the seller presents him/herself. If he appears to be a ham handed monkey, p*** on it. If he appears to be an intelligent machinist type who can tell you the clearances he checks, why he checks them, and what he won't accept without remachining, then snap it up. Built cheap and built right can be the same thing. But they're often not. good luck
