1952-59 Ford What is this black thing?

    Resistor? This is the glovebox light switch on my '54. I took off the peeling insulation and will replace it with shrink tubing. The whole car is also 12v now. Is the black thing needed?
    Also, does anyone have a pic of the inside of the glovebox area? Not sure where everything goes. Thanks all!

    It looks like a single connector where one bullet end goes in one side and the bullet end from a power source goes into the other side.

    Haha....that's exactly what it is! I pulled on it and it wouldn't separate. Stuck one end in a vise and really yanked on it and out it came. Never disconnected in 70 years, it took some real effort to pull it out! Thanks Rev!
