    Slash Shield,
    Slpash Apron,
    Running Board Apron.

When you search for them, depending on the manafacturer, itll be called one of the three. The radiator splash apron also has a few names depending on where you look.

It's the "had to put it back on because I didn't realize how ugly the A's frame would be on my highboy until later" apron.

Or, the "should have channelled my body instead" apron.

While we're dealing with correct terminology here, it's "dymo" label, not dynamo......a dynamo is a another name for a generator :D

  25. Thats a splash apron. On a fenderless car that a VERY pre-war look. I have pics of my grandfathers roadster from the late 30's fenderless with splash aprons. It was cause it made the fenders easier to put on back on when you got a ticket. He told me the cops would give you a ticket you would put the fenders and running boards back on with a few bolts and then get your ticket signed off, then rip them back off, throw them behind the garage and wait to get caught again! LOL

brookville considers them "running board aprons"...so if you lookin for replacements then thats what u would ask for but splash aprons would work as well...sure most people would know what ur talkin about...

And on cars raced (primarily on the flats), where you'd strip down your car to race it, and then put the fenders, bumpers and all the rest of the stuff back on before you drove home. It's just too hard to remove the aprons (gotta lift the body, right?) to save the weight of the aprons, eh?

"Rocker panel" describes the*****ogous bit in pontoon body cars, especially post-c. 1963, when many cars had a character line around hub height. I've heard the earlier panel described as a rocker panel before - I think in relation to upmarket coachbuilt cars - but when I posted a question about them on the Ford Barn using that term I was met with so much confusion that all the attention was drawn to the terminology and my question remained unanswered.

For what it's worth, can anyone tell me the width between the vertical parts of the aprons when installed on a later A? Are they parallel or do they taper to the front?
