Looks like early 60's pontiac full size to me with a bench seat shifter.

  5. If you notice there is no rear mount on the transmission. That really limits what it can go in. Now I have no idea what it would go in. If it were not for the numbers on the tailshaft I would say it came in a 57 chevvy.

  6. Date code is 4/12/63, so not out of a 57. Case number is T-10-1C, #3732221
The shifter is, after doing some searching, seems to be Impala, and manufactured by Ansen. The bracket on the back mistifies me !!

  9. Thanks Bud !
So far it seems to be the same trans used in Corvette, or Passenger, including 409.In Canada, Pontiac shared alot of bits (same platform)as chevy. A full size pocho with a four gear would have been really rare in this neck of the woods ! There is a stamped number on the left top mounting ear (834P020540), maybe a Pontiac number ? It was worth the hundred bucks just in entertainment !

  10. If you only paid a hundred bucks for that, you got a lot more than entertainment......that's a bargoon!!-MIKE:eek:

  11. Hey Guys
Looks like its out of a 1964 Pontiac Catalina ! Must have gone astray, as Catalinas' were not available in Canada. Be interesting to know what 389 it was behind ?? I would venture a guess not too many 4 gear Catalinas' were built !
