Technical What is this welding process?

    Well I've seen a Chrysler 300 Ghia in bare metal that had been mostly reconstructed by a very very talented metal shaper the problem is that he assembled the car crooked, roof was tilting on the right rear side and the whole right side of the car was caved in by at least 1". Being talented in one field doesn't equate to being good at everything.
    I suck at TIG welding and my welds don't look like cold MIG.
    If it was me I wouldn't have posted this kind of welds.

    Edit : I checked his page, what he's fabricating look very good, some of of the other welds he posted have the same haze but look like TIG with some pitting those welds look more like mine but with a different haze. When you see the end product you don't see anything. Hopefully it's not some editing (I've known a shop who was doing that).

    It's a technique known as "Backstep Welding" which is a good technique for controlling heat shrinkage.
