I would like to get an ID of this wheel. It is 15X9 and has early Ford bolt pattern. Is it mag or al? It weighs 18#. No name but has 5243S cast into the inside of one spoke. Any ideas? Any thoughts to value? Thanks guys!

I had a pair of E-T wheels that looked just like that but they had E-t stamped on the web between the spokes, same measurements too.

If I had to guess, E-T but I thought E-T's were unilug...

    anyone?

  3. By the cap mount ....i'd say American racing or ET's
just looked again maybe the short lived US racing.
That style is still fairly common up here at swaps and such,.........around 50 each or so.
it really depends on which brand they are.

I just picked up a pair of Ansens that look very similar.

I payed sixty for the pair with useable tires mounted.

That color makes them look like magnesium, and if they are I would think they're Americans. Don't think any of the other brands with that pattern did magnesium.

They look a lot like a pair of Americans I have, but mine are only 8 inch wide. My matching magnesium American fronts have a small lip on the bead, but that doesn't mean the rears also had it.

Not sure if the magnesium Americans ever said "American" on them or not.

Guess I didn't really answer your question.

  8. The wheels on the FED we recently sold were magnesium American Torq-Thrusts 15 dia. X 8 1/2 wide and, other than being polished, looked just like that. More often than not, the aluminum copies have the small extra lip on the outer edge.

Thanks guys.I did not know what they are. I have not had much to do with mag type wheels. I hadn't noticed that they don't have the lip for weights. Anybody guess at a value? They were never mounted. Thanks

    Andy,

Check with John over at Vintage air, AKA "Mr aluminum Ford wheel and speed equipment guy". He loves this sort of stuff and he's very knowledgeable. Im not sure of his last name but Willie knows him pretty well.

    Good luck!

They are most definatly MAG !! and in that case they ARE American Racing Equiptment, they are the only company that made this style wheel in Magnesium. and as for value, yea $300 + per wheel, I sell the original aluminums restored for $200 +, and the MAGs are always worth more.
Great find, they look cherry !
