Do not recognize this car. Long piano style hinge has me stumped. Ideas?

    It's not a Chrysler Product.
It's 1929 Hudson Super Six Sport Coupe!

  6. The body looks more like a Essex or Hudson , the Chrysler & Desoto has conventional doors not suicide. HRP

Piano hinges were common on Essex and Hudsons of that period.

While I am far from a Hudson or Essex expert... but the OP pic is no 6 cylinder car. The hood length is that of a 4 cylinder car, and is likely no different in size than a Model A. Maybe if Hudson made a 4 cylinder model...?

Those are heavy spoked wheels which mean they were built for faster speeds.

They were obviously in bed together...or it's damn near copyright infringement...

Were there different models as aluded perhaps a straight 8 and 6...there was a ton of that going on then that's for sure...

Hudson also produced the Essex as a smaller, less expensive option. In the late '20s and early '30s they were both an inline six. Here are the wheelbases for comparison.
    1928 Ford Model A................103.5"
    1928 Essex...............................110.5"
    1928 Hudson Model S............118.5"
    1928 Hudson Model O...........127.0"

Well Grumpy now we have @arkiehotrods tossing in a 29 Essex which looks pretty much alike and I see the Essex has 6 sided Hubcaps where the Hudson looks round...and then there is the shorter hood...the OP pic does look to have non round perhaps 6 sided caps...

I think @arkiehotrods is on the money. I would think '29 Essex is it. Still an inline six though. Remember, the Essex is pretty well just a baby Hudson. Still larger than the Model A 'runt of the litter'.......:):):)

@gbgh I think you have to get excited twice now because it's a 29 Essex as presented by @arkiehotrods...ding ding ding...congrats Arkie!!

Arkie is that your Essex?...soon to be Hotrod...:)...Montana Dodge Boys have a Similar vintage Dodge 3 Window and it is a real sharp Hotrod running a Supercharged Inline...it was chopped very mildly to give it that look of the Vintage advertising they presented at that time...The Artists always seemed to take those oldies and give them a more likeable Stance and pleasing Rooflines...

Psychedelic man...I've shared your ride before...I'll bet they're a bit more roomy and perhaps a better riding Hotrod with the bigger wheelbase...

Do you have a build Thread Ratster?...I ask as I like to update the pics I share as I find the roots...
