Hello, HAMB, I walked into a corner store yesterday to grab a quick coffee. While I was paying there was something that made me want to grab one of our area's Buy Sell Trade mags. So I grab one, pay for it, and walk out. I opened the book straight to this ad and pretty much fell in love. It was meant to be. Can anyone give me some more info on this? I need to know what make/model/year it could possibly be. Any tips on giving the guy a call? When you sell a car, what do/don't you like the buyer to say? I want to hit the nail on the head here and make a good first impression. Thanks, Denver
It is a WHITE manufactured truck Model WC and has a 16 foot long bed. http://www.goldenagetruckmuseum.com/images/list_of_trucks/1952_white.jpg
C'mon man, it says it in the ad. White Truck ! Did you even google it ? I did , try here. http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/whitetrks.htm
i bet the owner knows the year. try calling him. as far as making a good first impression, are you serious? have cash in your hand and be pulling a trailer when you go to see it....that'll be the only first impression the seller will need. as long as youre not planning to take the guy out to a movie afterward, who cares? buy the f@!#in thing, take it home, build the shit out of it and piss on whatever the seller thinks of you...
I friend of mine has one. on the hood sides it has a giant chrome plate that says " SUPER WHITE POWER" ...uhhh yeah
My guess and it's just a guess is that it's a White WC Truck, with a 16 ft bed and a flathead six motor. It could be in the Cobalt area. Oh and it appears to be yellow in color. Now it's just a thought but maybe there's a chance by calling 705-679-8208 there's a person there who can give you the information your looking for.
comedy hour on the hamb. ahh i remember those days. i started making replys just to raise my post count.
It's prolly a 58/9 Super Power White Mustang. 394"'s of raw flathead power. They are one of the coolest of the big trucks. Rank right up there with a Thermodyne Mack in the looks dept.
I don't have very much posts because when I need a question answered I SEARCH first! ^^^^I think this is the funniest part of this post. the jokes on us..... I think.
Well the"16" don;t mean a 16' bed. It is a series 16 like about a 2 -2 &1/2 ton truck. Flathead six OK but standard engine was 298 Cid. Year 49 to mid 50s most likely. Trans again most likely a 5 speed crash box , may have a 2 speed rear axle ,probably hyd. brakes.
Not going to provoke an argument here, but I would have searched if I knew what I was searching for. I do have alot of questions and I do usually find the answers I'm looking for without having to ask. I didn't even know the White Motor Company existed until today. Yo Baby, it is a pretty nice looking truck, thanks. Can anyone clarify if the bed is actually 16 feet? Gonna call up the guy tomorrow or Tuesday, probably won't get to take a loook at it until later on in the week.
Denver ; Re-read post #16 . Around here under 26,000 GVW don/t need a comerical license, don't know how it is up un Canuck land . LOL. Engine parts are VERY hard to find and forget any aftermarket body stuff. Had a few years ago a WC 22 semi tractor for a toy.
Thanks John. Haha, maybe it was on a job and was abandoned or something? Maybe the owner has the story. We'll see what comes of it I guess. I'll offer him a couple hundred bucks and see what he says.
"Gonna call up the guy tomorrow or Tuesday, probably won't get to take a loook at it until later on in the week. " If you procrastinate long enough, someone else will buy it. Call now. Maybe it can be hauled off for a few hundred bucks. That'll get you there sooner.
I know, I know. But it's hard to get around, I'm only 16 and my parents don't like to haul me around. I'm at school... I'm going to call when I get home. Thanks
Denver, I hope your able to get the truck. And your posts are more than welcome here. What your looking at isn't necessarily a traditional hot rod or a custom but it's definitely interesting. Once you get the truck and your able to let us know it's history I'll be interested in reading it. By now you've probably noticed you'll catch some crap on this site but, if you hang in there these are all a great bunch of guys and it's all in fun. I've only been here since january of this year but I never miss an evening on this site now that I've found it. -Mike
i found a white one time and on the grill it had am emblem the truck was called a ''super power''...i guess like a ford super duty...but th emblem was a circle that said ''super'' around the top..'white'' in the middle and '''power''' on the bottom..so the truck said SUPER WHITE POWER...i just thought it was somewhat humorous..hope i dont offend anyone on here...
I say remove the cab and front sheet metal from the chassis where it sits and haul the cab/fenders home on a u-haul trailer, and then have a scrapper haul the chassis away. Having a 2.5 ton truck towed takes a big tow truck and lots of $$$$$. Once you get the cab/fenders home, mount it on a modern Chevy 1 ton chassis.
