I can help here. Its a harmonic encoder for the DidIphart Digital Muffler Bearing package, all the tuners use them. Adds 500 hp and 3gs of cornering force.

What does a zenor diode do? I tried going back in time. Getting hit by lightning just sent me to the hospital and rattled my fillings loose.

Okay, I've only seen a couple of these, BUT they /it is a reverse flow electrical choke for a Lucas electrical circuit such as what was used in many Jaguar cars. It prevents the loss of smoke in a Lucas system, which we all know renders the system useless. They had a pretty high failure rate and it's rare to find one intact.

So close! It's actually a heat sink for a flux capacitor; those ****ers get HOT! Anyone see the episode on Discovery channels "Auction Kings"? They had a replica, Back to the Future, Deloreon; the most accurate replica to date. Butch/56sedandelivery.

I had a gentleman from another site tell me it might be a capacitor discharge ignition unit. I looked and they were used in the 60's. Were they used with the coil or deleted the coil?

THe old capacitive discharge ignitions used the coil, and the points. they just act like an amplifier to increase the spark voltage, and reduce the load on the points so the points last longer.

But the typical old CDI uses two of those transistors...and they have several more components, including a transformer.

shows the sort of common Delta unit
