What is this?

    This ended up in the shop, it appears to attach to the rear bumper of a 40ish chevy, some type of a spare tire carrier?....

  2. It looks like a "flip down" rear bumper guard for a 1937ish Chevrolet. Good item. It flips down in order to open the trunk. Big bucks.

    I agree. A flip down guard to protect the trunk. It would fold so you could open the trunk.

    Yes its 40-41 I don't know how to tell the difference but definitely 40-41 Chevy trunk guard.
