Hot Rods What is your "go to" wheel for a street brawler?

Not quite street worthy yet, but I like Kidneys the best.

 

Nothing wrong with your truck as is, but I just can't picture it as a street brawler.
Might be a geographic thing tough . ;-)

 

It doesn't look like much, but it ran 12.60's through the mufflers on street tires. I did a lot of street racing in the 80's with it. By today's standards that's not all that fast, but back then it was a lot of fun. Good times.

Halibrand kidney front runners and any vintage mag rear. Would love a set of Halibrand 4-small-hole kidneys but didn't make them in 15" aluminum for street.

 

Steel rears with 8”cheaters and steel 4” skinny Firestone 670-15’s

Man…I just tripped across the 4” wide slots I need on Marketplace last night, but they are much more proud of them than I am willing to pay… I guess I’ll keep waiting to find the set that someone doesn’t know what they are worth.

The last pair I had, I sold at Chickasha in the 80's. I wished I still had them.

 

I guess I may be willing to pay more than I thought… Heading to see them. More to come.

 

Just think of it per wheel. It doesn't hurt as bad.

 

These are for sale with a set of 15x10’s that I can’t use. But, a buddy with a Willys coupe needs them…

 

I saw them. I figured you could sell them off and offset some of the cost.

 

Good looking wheels, the seller must have been fairly close as fast as you made it back with your score. I've always liked slots. Since I now know for sure the wheels my Slicks are on are OT, I'll have to look for set. 8 or 9 is about as wide as I'd go on the back, but the 4s would be perfect on the front.

 

They were an hour and a half away, but worth the drive. I think I got a decent deal on them especially since I sold the rears to my buddy. And, the pic I took was just after loading them. I still had to drive home an hour and a half so didn’t get them unloaded until about an hour ago. Thankful to have found a set since I have been watching since about November or so for some to pop up. I’m trying to take a car I built a little over thirty years ago back a couple decades as far as when it could have been built.

 

Well worth the drive to have the wheels you want. I understand the desire to have the build to appear to be of a specific era. While I am not a purist, I do want the outward impression of my build to be vintage 50s or 60s.
